Starting Pitchers

Nestor Cortes (1-0) will have the chance to keep the Yankees’ season alive when he makes his third start of the postseason. The right-hander last pitched in Game 5 of the ALDS where he held the Cleveland Guardians to three hits and one earned run over five innings. Cortes has a 2.70 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 10 innings this postseason.

Lance McCullers Jr. will get the ball for Houston in Game 4 as he makes his second start this postseason. McCullers had a six-inning shutout against the Seattle Mariners in Game 3 of the ALDS, allowing just two hits in the process. The right-hander went 4-2 in the regular season with a 2.27 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP over 47.2 innings.

Astros Shut Out Yankees To Go Up 3-0

The Astros made a statement in Game 3, shutting out the Yankees with a 5-0 win on the road to pull within one victory of a World Series berth. Chas McCormick hit a two-run shot – his second homer of the series – while Christian Vazquez added a two-run single to do the bulk of the damage for the Astros.

Pitching was once again the key for Houston as starter Cristian Javier threw 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out five. Houston’s starters have now allowed just a single run and eight hits over three games against New York.

Yankees Suffer Postseason Shutout For First Time In Five Years

It was the same old story for the Yankees in Game 3 as the offense failed to deliver, but this time it was even more grim than the previous two outings as they were shut out and held to just three hits. Aaron Judge went 0-for-4 for the second time in the series – his fourth hitless performance of this postseason.

The loss marked the first time that New York had been shut out in postseason game since a 4-0 defeat to Houston in Game 7 of the 2017 ALCS, while the Yankees have now failed to record more than six hits in 10 straight postseason contests.

Astros Player Prop: Bregman OVER 2 Hits (+200)

Alex Bregman has been hot with two straight multi-hit games and three-multi hit performances in his last four outings. The Astros third baseman is getting +200 to get two more hits on Sunday.

Yankees Player Prop: Judge OVER 1 Hit + Yankees Win (+156)

The Yankees need a spark if they’re going to stay alive in this series and despite his struggles, Judge is still one of the most likely candidates to give New York an offensive boost. Just one hit from Judge and a Yankees win gets you a nice payout if it comes through.

Astros: Keys To Win

All three of Houston’s starters have been phenomenal in the ALCS and the Astros will be hoping that trend continues in Game 4. McCullers was outstanding in his first start of the postseason and was also very solid throughout the regular season, allowing two runs or fewer in seven of his eight outings. If he can replicate that, the Astros should be on to the World Series.

Yankees: Keys To Win

There are two ways that the Yankees can stay alive: either the offense finally wakes up or Cortes and the bullpen pitch a sterling game. Cortes has been solid in his two outings this postseason but he’s yet to go beyond the fifth inning which could put a lot of pressure on the pen. He’ll likely have to be sensational to earn the win on Sunday.
