NHL Player Props Today - December 12

NHL Player Props Today: Michkov Keeps His Points Streak Alive

We've got a near-full slate of NHL games with 14 contests on the schedule and I've combed through every player prop for all 14 games and picked three play props that will hit.

Here are my three prop picks for December 12 games with Crosby hitting his points prop against the Habs (-180), Matvei Michkov doing the same against the Wings (-155), and for Dylan Holloway to get at least three shots against the Sharks (+115).

Sidney Crosby O0.5 Points vs Canadiens (-180)

Matchup Page: Penguins vs Canadiens, 7:00 pm ET

Sid loves scoring against the Habs with 66 points in 51 career games (1.3 points per game). The last time he faced his boyhood team was on November 2nd, 2024 when he scored two goals in a 3-1 win.

Crosby has been the linchpin of Pittsburgh's offense since entering the league in 2005 and with how good he's been against Montreal the Penguins will rely on him yet again to get the offense going. Crosby should easily get his team on the scoreboard with Montreal holding the third-worst defense in the league with 3.54 goals against per game.

Note that Montreal has been a mess defensively against the Pens allowing 3.8 goals in their last 10 games, while Sid's boys have been on fire offensively lately scoring an average of 3.4 goals per game in their last seven outings. The Pens will score a few times and Crosby will get in on the scoring.

Matvei Michkov O0.5 Points (-155) vs Red Wings

Matchup Page: Red Wings vs Flyers, 7:00 pm ET

Matvei Michkov, the Calder Trophy favorite, has been electric of late with 10 points in his five-game point streak pushing his production total up to 27 points in 27 games for the Flyers. Tonight Philly welcomes the Red Wings who've allowed an average of 3.7 goals per game in their last seven and have seen their opponents score at least five goals three times in that span, it's a statsy way of saying "they bad defensively".

Michkov has been excellent at home lately as he settles into a life of cheesesteaks and Rocky marathons with six points in his last five home games, so welcoming a bad defensive team to Wells Fargo Center tonight is music to our betting ears.

Dylan Holloway O2.5 SOG (+115) vs Sharks

Matchup Page: Sharks vs Blues, 8:00 pm ET

No team has allowed more shots on goal in December than the San Jose Sharks at 36.3 per game, meanwhile, Dylan Holloway leads all St. Louis Blues shooters in the month of December with 15 shots in four games (3.75 per game), he's also gone OVER 2.5 shots in six of his last eight games with an average of 3.6 shots.

The Blues have a really good reason for feeding Holloway the puck with six goals in his last five games. All of that scoring has allowed the Blues to pick up seven points from a possible 10 and sit three points back of the Wild Card spot. You can bet St Louis will keep feeding Holloway the puck tonight against the Sharks to try and keep the good times rolling.
