English Premier League - Odds Legend

The English Premier League is the most popular sports league on the planet. Because you’re visiting Odds Shark’s Premier League Odds page, you probably want some insight into how to bet on the most-watched sports association in the world. Well, you’re in luck. Here you’ll find everything from how to understand the betting lines to how to interpret the odds.

Let’s break it down: You’ll notice that there are negative and positive signs in our odds tables. Favorites are acknowledged by the negative value sign. Underdogs are acknowledged by the positive value sign. For example, a matchup between Fulham and Leicester City could have Fulham listed at +250 and Leicester at -105.

In this case, Leicester is the favorite and Fulham is the underdog. Having this information at your disposal can help shape your bet. It’s possible that the match will end in a draw (tie) and we show this where it says Draw.

Moneyline

For many Premier League betting fans, the moneyline provides a popular form of wagering that is quite simple. The moneyline wager requires you to pick one club over the other. Let’s say Liverpool is facing off against Southampton and you believe Liverpool is going to win. Should they win, you would win your moneyline bet. If Southampton wins, then you’d lose your moneyline bet.

This type of wagering eliminates the uncertainty that accompanies totals and spread betting. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try your hand at totals and spread betting, but if you’re looking to make a simpler type of wager, the moneyline is the way to go.

Total OVER/UNDER

OVER/UNDER, aka totals betting, gives you the opportunity to make a wager based on the total number of goals scored during a match. Before each match, the numbers are set to let you choose if you want to bet the OVER or the UNDER.

Here’s how it works: A fixture between West Ham and Newcastle is set at 4.5. Making a bet on the OVER means that five or more combined goals must be scored for you to win your bet. Making a bet on the UNDER means that the total number of goals scored must be four or less, otherwise you will not win your wager.

Futures

For those who like to bet on far-off events, the futures bet is for you. This type of bet lets you place wagers on possible outcomes of the Premier League. You can make a bet on which clubs will qualify for the UEFA Champions League, which clubs will be regulated to the EFL Championship, which Big Six club will win it all, and numerous other wagers. An example of a futures bet would be a wager made on Cardiff City to win the championship.

You can check out Odds Shark’s Standings page during the season and playoffs to see how your futures bets are shaping up. Some people avoid futures bets because they can tie up your bankroll during the season. However, Premier League futures wagers are worth it in the long run if you make strategic picks that can net you huge profits.
