NBA Playoffs 2024 Same-Game Parlay: 76ers vs. Knicks Game 5

The New York Knicks are on the verge of advancing to the second round of the NBA playoffs for a second-straight season, something the franchise hasn't accomplished since the late nineties. The Philadelphia 76ers, meanwhile, could bow out in the first round with a Game 5 loss on Tuesday night and fail to reach the conference semifinals for the first time since 2020.

Let's put together a same-game parlay and win some money.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: New York Knicks ATS -4

The spread for all four games hasn't wavered, hovering between 4.5 and 5.5 points with the Knicks and Sixers covering twice each (once at home and once on the road). If you're looking for some sort of noteworthy trend, there frankly isn't one. What you'll need to know is which side has the momentum and which is on the ropes, and it's clear where each squad lands.

Even competing at the Wells Fargo Center, the split crowd with swarms of Knicks fans invading the building shook the Sixers in Game 4, including superstar center Joel Embiid. The reaction is going to be far more boisterous and merciless at Madison Square Garden for a potential closeout game, with Embiid winning over no new fans in this series with some of his on-court antics.

It required a superhuman effort from Jalen Brunson to avoid having the series evened up at 2-2, especially with Mitchell Robinson unavailable as another big body to throw at Embiid. There's some optimism that the big man will be able to go for Game 5 after testing his ankle prior to tipoff of Game 4. Either way, the soul may have been ripped away from a Philadelphia team that's looking for anyone not named Embiid or Tyrese Maxey to step up on the road.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Jalen Brunson UNDER 34.5 Points

Jalen Brunson set a Knicks franchise record for the most points ever by a player in a postseason game with 47 points on 18-of-34 shooting in New York's 97-92 Game 4 victory.

Surpassing the likes of Bernard King, Patrick Ewing, Carmelo Anthony, and Willis Reed is quite the feather in his cap, and it didn't look all that probable after Brunson shot just 35.4 percent through the first three games.

The OVER/UNDER player prop of 34.5 points is incredibly high following such a miraculous performance. Brunson contributed 22 and 24 in the first two home playoff games, respectively, before exploding offensively in the City of Brotherly Love. It's hard to bet against Brunson to nail a scoring leg, and if Game 5 were also in Philadelphia, it would probably be wise to take the OVER. It's not, though, so we'll lean with what we've seen trending and err on the side of caution.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Kyle Lowry OVER 7.5 Points

Kyle Lowry has been, by far, the best Sixers role player throughout this series, even when his numbers don't necessarily reflect that. His box score in Game 1 certainly did, though, when the veteran point guard contributed 18 points with four makes from behind the arc.

He hasn't reached double-digit scoring since then, though, but he's still averaging a healthy 34.1 minutes per game with 4.8 of his 6.5 shot attempts coming from 3-point range.

With such a large chunk of his offensive opportunities being 3-point attempts, all he has to do is make a pair (Lowry is averaging two per game) to come within arm's reach of this player prop. He'll make it happen with so much at stake on Tuesday.
