MLB Same-Game Parlay May 8: Orioles vs Nationals (+320)

The MLB same-game parlay isn't always easy to pull off, but when it hits, oh boy, do we ever rake it in.

For Wednesday, we're tackling the 6:45 p.m. contest between the Nationals and Orioles.

Here's my MLB same-game parlay for the contest, where I break down the three parlay legs I need to hit:

Orioles vs Nationals Same-Game Parlay: May 8

The Game: Orioles vs Nationals - 6:45 p.m. ET

BetOdds
Kyle Bradish OVER 4.5 Strikeouts-130
Adley Rutschman OVER 1.5 Total Bases-115
Orioles ML-180
Overall+320

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Bradish OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-130)

I'm quite confident in this first leg of our same-game parlay. Kyle Bradish made his season debut last week, going 4.2 innings and striking out five batters, narrowly cashing the OVER. Bradish's pitch count is the key here. The O's let him rip 84 pitches, which suggests he could be extended to around 100 Wednesday.

With more runway, Bradish can thrive. He'll also be helped by the fact four consecutive starting pitchers have cashed their strikeouts OVER vs the Nationals, including Blue Jays righty Alek Manoah, who got hit hard but still whiffed six guys.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Rutschman OVER 1.5 Total Bases (-115)

The numbers on this one surprised me. Rutschman is a switch hitter, and baseball bettors know switch hitters usually have a dominant side of the dish. Maybe a guy has limited power on one side or strikes out a lot. It's rare to see players excel on both sides.

Historically, Rutschman has struggled as a right-handed hitter, maintaining his OBP numbers but lacking in power. Boy has that ever flipped. This season, Rutschman is slashing .474/.492/.724 vs LHPs with four homers.

Of course, the O's face rookie lefty Mitchell Parker Wednesday, opening the door for some big hits from the Orioles catcher.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Orioles ML (-180)

The O's are objectively a better squad than the Nationals. Baltimore also owns a starting pitching advantage in this contest and its lineup has been far more potent over the last 30 days.

The last element of this bet comes from bullpen usage. The Orioles have better arms in their 'pen, but their guys are also very rested. Neither Craig Kimbrel nor Yennier Canno have pitched in the last three days, meaning they'll be rested for leverage Wednesday.
