One of the greatest boxers of this generation is set to hang up his gloves after one final bout on April 9. Manny Pacquiao will challenge Timothy Bradley for the third time in Pac-Man’s swan song.
Though the combatants split the first two bouts, pretty much everyone agrees that Pacquiao was robbed in his split decision loss to Bradley in June 2012. The second meeting of the two was a unanimous decision victory for Pac-Man, as the Filipino picked apart Bradley’s defense consistently for 12 rounds.
Pacquiao enters this fight as a sizable -225 favorite with Bradley coming back at +175 according to Sportsbook.
Pacquiao is not the fighter he once was, but still has the ability to flash bursts that can bring back fond memories of what used to be. However, Pacquiao offers next to zero punching power at this point of his career, as he has not won a fight by knockout since 2009.
“Desert Storm” broke up with his long time manager Joel DIaz before his last fight and has since been under the tutelage of Teddy Atlas. Bradley is a strong technical boxer who had a bad tendency to let too many punches through his defense, but Atlas should be able to correct that.
