MLB Same-Game Parlay May 3rd: Cardinals vs White Sox

There's nothing better than hitting an MLB same-game parlay on a Friday and taking that win into the weekend. So, friends, I'm going to try to find us that win.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to say the White Sox are bad this year. So, with my Cardinals vs White Sox same-game parlay today, I'm going to be backing the Cards in a few different ways:

Cardinals vs White Sox Same-Game Parlay: May 3rd

The Game: Cardinals vs White Sox - 8:15 p.m. ET

BetOdds
Cardinals Moneyline-130
White Sox Under 2.5 Runs-104
Alec Burleson Over 0.5 Hits-250
Overall+220

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Cardinals Moneyline

St. Louis has struggled offensively this year, scoring just 3.52 runs per game. There are just three teams in the league with worse lineup production, so far. Lucky for the Cards, the White Sox are one of those teams.

The pitching matchup is also going to be heavily in St. Louis' favor tonight. The Cards trot out ace Sonny Gray, who has a 1.16 ERA on the season. He's facing off against Brad Keller, who is making his first start of 2024 after a 2023 season where he posted a very bad 5.92 FIP.

This is a very good pitcher vs a very bad pitcher, and let's not overcomplicate it. The Cardinals are 3-1 in Gray's four outings this year.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: White Sox U2.5 Runs

The White Sox offense has flashed a little something lately, but this is still a lineup that averages just 2.87 runs per game (easily the lowest in MLB). Crucially, I think they're gonna get dominated by Sonny Gray, too. Gray has held current White Sox hitters to a .587 OPS in 109 career at-bats.

Gray also has 31 strikeouts in those 109 career at-bats against current Sox hitters. You can bet the Over on his 5.5 strikeouts line for today's game at -140.

This leg of the parlay also works great alongside our game pick. When the White Sox score fewer than three runs this year, they're 5-11 on the runline and 1-15 on the moneyline.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Alec Burleson O0.5 Hits

The Cardinals haven't had many hot streaks in the lineup this season, but utility man Alec Burleson is kind of on one right now. In the last week. Burleson has six hits and eight RBI, good for a .316 average and 1.013 OPS.

White Sox starter Brad Keller is a guy who owns a career 1.446 WHIP and has allowed 9.0 hits per nine innings, so there should be plenty of opportunity for Burleson to stay hot tonight.

If you're buying Burleson to get a hit tonight, it only reinforces our Cardinals' runline pick, too. The Cards are 11-4 on the runline in games Burleson has a hit this season (7.15 units in profit). You can get the Cards -1.5 at -130.
