Ronda Rousey opened as a huge betting favorite against Holly Holm at the online sportsbooks for their matchup at UFC 195 in Las Vegas on January 2, with the women's Bantamweight champion looking to continue her undefeated UFC run.
Rousey, who is 12-0 in her professional MMA career and 6-0 in UFC fights, was set as a -1000 favorite on the Sportsbook UFC 195 odds at Sportsbook, with that fight announced on Friday and scheduled to take place in the new year at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Editor's Note: Rousey vs. Holm has moved to UFC 193 in Melbourne in November.
Rousey last fought in Brazil in August at UFC 190, making short work of Bethe Correia with a knockout 34 seconds into the bout to pay off as the -1400 favorite at the sportsbooks.
Correia, however, lasted longer than Rousey's previous two opponents combined, with Cat Zingano falling in 14 seconds via submission to Rousey at UFC 184 and Alexis Davis getting knocked out 16 seconds into her matchup with the champion at UFC 175. Rousey has ended 11 of her 12 professional MMA fights in the first round.
And that has led many to call for her to face Cristiane 'Cyborg' Justino in the Octagon, while others figured her next bout would be against Miesha Tate in late 2015 or early 2016. Tate has already lost to Rousey twice, but at least took her to the third round at UFC 168.
Instead it'll be Rousey vs. Holm at UFC 195, with Holm the +600 underdog at Sportsbook. Holm has a 33-2-3 record as a professional boxer, and she's 9-0 in her mixed martial arts career and 2-0 in her two UFC fights - both of which came in the past year.
Holm, though, needed three-round decisions to win those two UFC bouts, beating Raquel Pennington by split decision at UFC 184 in Los Angeles in February and then getting past Marion Reneau by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night in San Diego in July.
