The UFC Bantamweight title will be on the line this weekend when current champ T.J. Dillashaw meets former champ Renan Barao in the long-awaited rematch.
The UFC on Fox 16 fight card will also feature a top contender fight in the UFC Women’s Bantamweight division between former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye, as well as an important Lightweight matchup between the surging Edson Barboza and the undefeated Paul Felder.
In the main event of UFC on Fox 16 current champ Dillashaw is handicapped as the UFC odds -220 favorite while underdog action on Barao to win will pay +175 at Sportsbook. Those UFC on Fox 16 odds look like a bargain when one considers how easily Dillashaw was able to beat Barao in the first fight.
We like the Dillashaw decision win. If Barao has improved since the first fight he should go the distance, but the chance also exists that he’s mentally defeated after being dominated the first time around.
In the UFC on Fox 16 co-main event Miesha Tate is currently handicapped as the -200 MMA odds favorite against Jessica Eye. We think her toughness will be the difference in this fight and expect to see her hand raised in a decision win. The +160 upset option on Eye doesn’t carry enough of a payday for us, especially when one considers that she has a low finishing rate.
The Edson Barboza vs. Paul Felder matchup is a true pick'em with current Sportsbook MMA odds favoring Barboza as the -140 favorite. We think there’s a little more value in the Felder upset option of +110, and we will be looking for the Sportsbook prop bet posting on the fight not going the distance.
