NBA Playoff Expert Picks Tonight: Dame Time to Keep Bucks Rolling

An amazing start to the NBA playoffs has seen home teams sweep the slate. Incredibly, home teams are now 11-0 SU to begin postseason festivities.

Let's take a look at spread, moneyline and total plays to help you beat the books as these four teams battle it out for NBA playoff berths:

Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Phoenix Suns-3 (-108)-152O 222.5 (-110)
Minnesota Timberwolves+3 (-112)+128U 222.5 (-110)

Pick: OVER 211.5

The OVER has smacked in seven of the last 10 Suns vs Timberwolves matchups.

Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves shot 50% from the field and 37.5% from three to run away with game 1. Phoenix shot 44% with Kevin Durant dropping 31 to lead the Suns.

Both teams have shot nearly 47% from the field in their last 10 matchups. In fact, Phoenix has knocked down 42% from deep over their last 10 games against the Wolves. Each of these teams has the bucket-getters necessary to get us to the pay window.

Kevin Durant has shot an outstanding 52% including 47% from three in his last 10 against Minnesota. On the flip side, Edwards has shot 45% while scoring 21.4.

I’m riding with the over in Suns vs T-Wolves game two. Stick with the trends and bet the OVER here.

Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers

Dallas Mavericks+1 (-110)-112O 216.5 (-110)
Los Angeles Clippers-1 (-110)-104U 216.5 (-110)

Pick: Mavericks +1

Chris has a momentous +695 same-game parlay for Mavs-Clippers game two.

I like the Mavs to bounce back here. Dallas was blown off the floor in game one. Luka and co. came out flat and looked every bit the team that sat their starters for the final week of the regular season. However, the underlying metrics of Jason Kidd’s team point to them being a true NBA Championship contender.

The Clippers shot 50% from three in the first game, and that type of production is unsustainable. Terrance Mann, Amir Coffee, and Russell Westbrook aren’t combining to go 7-of-11 from three again.

Dallas shot 10-of-33 from deep and I expect that number to increase in game two. The Mavericks are simply too good offensively to be held down once again. Back the Mavs on the spread in game two.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Indiana Pacers

TeamSpreadMoneyTotal
Milwaukee Bucks-1 (-110)-320O 223.5 (-110)
Indiana Pacers+1 (-110)+260U 223.5 (-110)

Pick: Bucks -1

The difference in playoff experience was stark in the series opener Sunday, when the young Pacers completely melted down as slight road favorites. The Bucks, who had lurched through one bad loss after another to end the regular season, came to life even with star Giannis Antetokounmpo on the bench with a calf strain. Milwaukee may be able to win this series without Giannis, though they’ll certainly need him beyond that.

Chris Walder's same-game parlay has more meat on the bone for Bucks vs Pacers.

Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Matchup Page: Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves, 7:30p.m. ET

TeamSpreadMoneyTotal
Phoenix Suns-3 (-108)-152O 222.5 (-110)
Minnesota Timberwolves+3 (-112)+128U 222.5 (-110)

Pick: Suns -3

Home teams won all eight games through the first two days of the NBA playoffs, and none was more eye-opening than Minnesota’s 25-point beatdown of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and company. Phoenix looked absolutely unprepared for the Timberwolves’ level of physicality, even though the Suns had won all three matchups in the regular season. Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards dominated the paint, and that T-Wolves defense looked good enough to stay.
