Let's break down the 2025 Super Bowl odds with the NFL regular season advancing into Week 16.

A monumental shift at the top of the odds board has seen the Buffalo Bills (+350) and Philadelphia Eagles (+420) jump to the top. As the war of attrition that is an NFL season takes its toll, the Bills and Eagles have leapfrogged both the Detroit Lions (+500) and Kansas City Chiefs (+500).

The Lions have the highest ticket % (16%) and handle % (17.9%) to win the Super Bowl per BetMGM, with the Chiefs owning the second highest ticket (12.3%) and handle (13.9%) percentage. The Ravens are third with 7.8% of Super Bowl tickets and 10.4% of the Super Bowl handle.

Here's a complete breakdown of updated 2025 Super Bowl odds and some value picks:

Who Is Favored To Win Super Bowl 59?

Super Bowl Odds Movement

A variety of things can cause Super Bowl odds movement, including injuries, team performance, or transactions. If you look at 2025 Super Bowl odds now, you'll see movement for teams like the Chiefs and Bills:

Rising: Buffalo Bills

The Josh Allen show rolls on. Buffalo's NFL MVP frontrunner threw for 362 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 68 and two more scores to lead his Bills to a 48-42 victory over the Detroit Lions.

That being said, just six quarterbacks have won both the NFL MVP and the Super Bowl in the same season. Can Allen become the seventh? History says that's unlikely.

Moreover, the Bills have now scored 30 or more points in eight games in a row. Their offense has been absolutely unstoppable. But, none of the other teams to achieve that feat have gone on to win the Super Bowl. The 2000 Rams, 2007 Patriots, 2010 Patriots, and the 2013 Broncos all failed to lift the Lombardi Trophy.

Additionally, the Bills defense has surrendered 86 points and 988 yards over the last two weeks. That's far from a winning formula in February. Allen has been superhuman this season on the football field. He's the closest thing to a star basketball player simply taking over the game and doing whatever he wants on the gridiron. Unfortunately, the Bills have all the makings of a team destined to disappoint in the playoffs.

Falling: Detroit Lions

Detroit's injury woes are starting to take a toll. With 13 defensive players already on injured reserve, the Lions lost both starting corner Carlton Davis (jaw) and likely 2024 All-Pro Alim McNeill (knee) to injury against Buffalo. Plus, running back David Montgomery tore his MCL on Sunday, and is out indefinitely.

Dan Campbell's banged up defense allowed 197 rushing yards and 8.2 yards per play on Sunday, and face an uphill battle to stop any competent offensive team for the remainder of the season.

The Lions could very well cede both the NFC North and the NFC's top seed to the Minnesota Vikings should they lose in Week 18. The Eagles also hover at 12-2 and could end up stealing the conference's top-seed from both the Lions or Vikings.

Detroit remains a juggernaut. Having said that, no team in NFL history has allowed 45 points or more at home and gone on to win the Super Bowl. We'll see if the Lions can be the first.

Super Bowl 2025 Odds Best Bet: Steelers (+2000)

Death, taxes, and the Pittsburgh Steelers staying above .500. Mike Tomlin's team has now won at least eight games for a record 18 straight seasons. They've seen their odds fall from +1800 to +2000 after falling by a score of 27-13 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, the game was far closer than the final scoreline. Pittsburgh took an awful personal foul penalty and the Philadelphia three-yard line late in the first half and were forced to settle for a field goal. On top of that, running back Najee Harris fumbled in the football as the Steelers were driving for a score. Uncharacteristic mistakes doomed the Steelers on Sunday, but a disciplined team is less likely to repeat those come playoff time.

The Steelers are certifiable Super Bowl contenders. TJ Watt is as menacing as ever, and Russell Wilson's resurgence has given Pittsburgh the juice they need to contend in the postseason.

Pittsburgh sits in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive yards per play. Additionally, they are allowing just 62% of passes to be completed with a stellar 3.23 interception percentage. Pittsburgh's top-ranked pass-rush and opportunistic secondary will be a handful for even the greatest passers in the NFL to contend with in the playoffs.

Wilson's revival and the Steelers' strong rushing game will keep them playing in February. I love the value on the Steelers at +2000 to win the Super Bowl.

Making A Betting Strategy For Super Bowl 59

Crafting a winning Super Bowl betting strategy begins long before the first kickoff of the regular season. Assessing offseason changes, coaching adjustments, and previous performances are crucial factors.

You're likely to get the best betting value on a team if you place a bet before the season, but there are times in the regular season and even playoffs when you can still place a smart bet. Keep an eye on the odds, as they fluctuate throughout the year due to injuries, trades, and team performance. Acting swiftly when you spot favorable odds ensures maximizing potential winnings, as odds can shift dramatically over time at NFL sportsbooks.

The general key to crafting a betting strategy for Super Bowl odds is comparing a team's likelihood of winning in your mind to where they are on the odds board. Finding a team much more likely to win than the odds indicate is the smartest bet you can make. This strategy holds true for most futures odds, including NFL award odds.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been a powerhouse lately, winning three of the last five Super Bowls. Led by coach Andy Reid and QB Patrick Mahomes, you can expect the Chiefs at the top of these odds as long as they're around.

The biggest recent Super Bowl underdog was the 2017 Eagles, who beat Brady’s Patriots in the final. They even did so after their No. 1 QB, Carson Wentz, went down with an injury late in the season. Backup Nick Foles took over under center and earned Super Bowl MVP honors to deliver great preseason odds value to Philly’s Super Bowl 52 bettors.
