my number 1 team in cFL Power Rankings: montreal alouettes

You don't have to be a computer to know that the Montreal Alouettes have rightfully earned the No. 1 spot in the CFL power rankings. Their 12-5-1 SU regular season record earned them a bye into the upcoming Division Finals.

The momentum has come to a brief halt, going 3-4 SU between the start of September to the end of the regular season. But, even with a stint without starting quarterback Cody Fajardo, where back-up Davis Alexander went 4-0, and WR Tyson Philpot out for the remainder of the season -- Montreal hasn't been too thrown off and overcomes any adversity thrown at 'em.

Sitting as a top two scoring defense (22.4 PPG) and allowing a league-low 6.32 yards per play, the Alouettes defense stays unaffected by any offensive drama. Last year's Grey Cup wasn't a fluke.

most overrated team: Toronto Argonauts

With a slight middling 10-8 SU record, I've dropped the Argos in our CFL power rankings. Failing to string together more than two wins at a time until the final few weeks off the season, Toronto is not consistent. Even more embarrassing, the Argos have failed to pocket those "easy" division wins to inflate their record. They have yet to defeat Hamilton this season and went 1-1 SU in their regular season meetings with Ottawa.

Since returning from his suspension, Chad Kelly has thrown nearly just as many interceptions (8) as touchdowns (10). Clearly, he hasn't alleviated offensive concerns fully. This team is too hard to read. Though they pushed past the Redblacks in the Divisional Semifinals, it'll be tough to overcome the hungry, rested Als on the road.
