Every year, it seems the AL East grows stronger. In 2025, the AL East odds reflect a tight race, starting with the Yankees as the +100 favorites at FanDuel. After that, it's the Orioles (+250) and Red Sox (+440).
The Yanks clinched the AL East title last season and seemed poised to repeat unless another dark-horse contender proves to be a worthy longshot bet.

New York Yankees (+100)
The Yankees reigned supreme in 2024, finishing 94-68 and taking the AL East title. Aaron Judge bashed an MLB-best 58 homers, but their inconsistent rotation raised eyebrows. Enter Max Fried, the $218 million ace, and shutdown reliever Devin Williams — moves that scream win-now. The Yankees are the favorites to run it back in 2025, but with sky-high expectations comes the pressure to deliver. Anything short of a deep postseason run would be a disappointment, hence New York's chalk status.
Baltimore Orioles (+250)
The Orioles finished second in the division with a 91-71 record last year. Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson have blossomed into superstars, but their pitching still needs work. While Baltimore added veterans Tyler O’Neill and Charlie Morton to bolster the roster, losing ace Corbin Burnes stings. Baltimore has the pieces to stay competitive, but it could struggle to make the playoffs without more pitching depth. I firmly believe the O's are overvalued here.
Boston Red Sox (+440)
Boston clawed its way to a .500 finish in 2024, a minor miracle considering the club's pitching was a mess. The Sox rolled the dice on Garrett Crochet and Walker Buehler, two moves that are bound to improve the run prevention. More importantly, the team signed Alex Bregman to a three-year deal, adding a much-needed leader in the clubhouse and a fine offensive complement to Rafael Devers.
Boston is a strong value pick.
Tampa Bay Rays (+950)
The Rays stumbled to an 80-82 record last season—their first losing campaign since 2017—and it was no fluke. Their lineup lacked firepower, and even their vaunted pitching couldn’t save them. This offseason, they added Ha-Seong Kim and Danny Jansen, but are these moves enough? Tampa Bay always finds ways to surprise, but on paper, this roster screams middle of the pack.
Toronto Blue Jays (+1300)
The Blue Jays hit rock bottom in 2024, finishing 74-88 and dead last in the AL East. Injuries and underwhelming pitching sunk their season, but they’ve made splashy moves to right the ship. Anthony Santander, fresh off a 44-homer season, brings much-needed power, and Max Scherzer is a risky but intriguing gamble. Toronto has the talent to rebound, but if 2025 starts like 2024, heads will roll.
AL East Odds: Value Pick - Red Sox (+440)
With the addition of Bregman, the Red Sox are in a good spot to claim the AL East title in 2025. Jarren Duran has emerged as a future MVP candidate, giving Boston a dynamic weapon atop the lineup. For the first time in years, the Red Sox boast real lineup depth, pairing Bregman with Devers and a reinvigorated supporting cast. Combined with their bolstered pitching staff, Boston has the talent and firepower to outpace its division rivals and secure the top spot.
