What Is a March Madness Bracket?

There is something special when college basketball heads into March with 68 of the Nation's best teams vying to be crowned champ in a head-to-head, single-elimination tournament known as March Madness.

Selection Sunday occurs after the last conference tournament wraps up with the 68 teams named to enter the March Madness Tournament. The bracket is broken down into four regions, the Midwest, South, East and West. The winners of those regions will then compete in the Final Four with the winners of those games competing for the chance to cut down the nets and be named the national champions.

You and your friends or perhaps coworkers, can fill out a March Madness bracket on many popular sports websites such as Yahoo! Sports and ESPN. Simply choose which team will win each matchup all the way through the bracket and into the championship game.
