2025 SEC Regular Season Conference Winner: Auburn Favored, Can 'Bama Catch Up?

The Auburn Tigers are dominating not only their conference, but the entire college basketball field, too. Auburn is the -230 favorites to be the SEC regular season conference winner at FanDuel.

Of the six top ranked schools in the KenPom ratings, SEC schools are taking up four spots. As per usual, the Southeastern Conference is stacked with powerhouse programs. However, with a daunting second-half of the schedule remaining--a couple upsets could shake up the oddsboard.

SEC conference winner Favorite: Auburn Tigers (-230)

The best record in the nation belongs to the No. 1 Auburn Tigers, who have suffered just two losses all season, one back in early December against Duke and most recently to No. 6 Florida. The Tigers, current 10-1 vs SEC, are dropping 84.8 PPG, the fifth-best mark in the nation, led by Johni Broome's 18.1 points and 10.7 rebounds per game--even despite the senior missing a few games with two separate injuries.

Being the top ranked college basketball program is already impressive but Auburn looks even more unstoppable when you consider it holds the highest overall strength of schedule at KenPom. Among the Tigers excelled resume is defeating No. 4 Houston, No. 5 Iowa State, No. 12 UNC, No. 16 Purdue, No. 15 Mississippi State, No. 23 Georgia and No. 6 Tennessee. 

There's no time to ease up for the Tigers, who still have five ranked meetings before the regular season wraps up, three of which are against current top 10 schools. Those two upcoming tilts against Alabama will make-or-break whether Auburn reigns the SEC come March.

SEC conference winner contender: Alabama Crimson Tide (+180)

Like I said above, the Tide can really shake up the oddsboard if they win these upcoming two games against the Tigers. But, to round out the regular season, 'Bama has seven consecutive ranked matchups. Time to get focused. 

Alabama has the second-best offensive rating at KenPom and is averaging a 90.5 PPG, the highest mark in the nation. Notably, Nate Oats is navigating the second toughest overall schedule according to KenPom ratings. 

Mark Sears is dialed in and his 17.8 PPG may lead the Tide, but four of his teammates are also averaging double-digits to lessen the load on the senior's shoulders.
