Pairing his performance with the stellar batting order of the Yankees, and it shouldn’t surprise bettors that New York is 14-2 SU and 10-6 ATS in his 16 appearances. His last outing may have planted doubt in the minds of some pundits (three earned runs and eight hits) but it’s worth noting the Yankees still won 4-3.
In the other dugout, 2015 Cy Young Sportsbook Jake Arrieta will try to stump the squad with the best record in baseball. Arrieta is coming off a decent showing (three earned runs and four hits) vs the Cardinals last week but in June overall, he’s been rocked as he owns a 6.97 ERA in four starts this month, allowing 16 earned runs. The Phillies’ high-priced offseason acquisition has yet to find his consistency this season, which makes Philadelphia a team to fade in this matchup tonight.
Phillies have not been a reliable runline wager
Although Philadelphia has had a mini-resurgence this season (41-35 SU), it hasn’t translated to profits for runline bettors looking to cash in on this new-found success. The Phillies are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games at home and 16-22 ATS in 38 home games this season.
One of the main reasons for not wanting to back the runline for the Phillies has been their inconsistency this month as they’re 7-14 ATS in 21 games in June and it’s worth mentioning they were only favored in eight of them. Steer clear of the Phillies +1.5 runline and stick to their moneyline if you plan to back them.
UNDER Bettors cashing in on Yankees games
Despite boasting a lineup full of sluggers, the Yankees offense hasn’t been bashing the ball in June as they are averaging 4.04 runs in 23 games this month, which is a significant drop from their average of 5.16 runs per game this season. With the bats starting to slow down along with a stellar 3.41 ERA from their pitching staff, the UNDER has hit in 10 of their last 11 road games.
