Florida Should Keep Offense Rolling vs Vanderbilt

The OVER is 7-1 in Florida’s last eight games, including a 5-1 mark so far in 2020. The Gators’ high-powered offense will look to keep lighting up the scoreboard when they visit the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday. Vanderbilt is still looking for its first win of the year.

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Early bettors were not scared off by the massive 30.5-point Sportsbook line on the Gators, leaning their way to move the line slightly up to Florida -31. The total for this SEC contest opened at 67.5 points. The OVER is 12-3 in the last 15 games between Vanderbilt and Florida.

Florida News & Notes

Last season, the SEC saw Joe Burrow go from a solid quarterback the previous year to a totally elite one. Kyle Trask is drawing comparisons to Burrow this season, and for good reason – the senior quarterback was good last year, but he’s hit another level this season.

Trask had 356 passing yards and six passing touchdowns in Florida’s 63-25 win over Arkansas last Saturday. He now has 2,171 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns and just three interceptions across six games in 2020.

Florida’s defense is getting torched for 411.3 total yards and 30 points per game. But it just hasn’t mattered with Trask playing at such an elite level. The Gators are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS on the season and appear to be on a collision course with the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC championship game.

Vanderbilt News & Notes

Vanderbilt opened the season with a competitive 17-12 loss against the Texas A&M Aggies before going 0-3 SU and ATS over their next three games with three straight losses by an average of 33.7 points.

But in November the Commodores have been back to their competitive ways with close losses against the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Kentucky Wildcats, covering the spread in both of those games to move to 0-6 SU and 3-3 ATS on the season.

Freshman quarterback Ken Seals has had an up-and-down season with 1,291 passing yards, eight touchdown passes and eight interceptions. Seals did play well in last week’s 38-35 loss to Kentucky with two touchdown passes and no interceptions. Before that 35-point effort, Vanderbilt was averaging just 13.8 points per game.

Betting Pick: OVER 67.5 points

Florida will probably roll to a cover here, but 31 points is a big number to cover. Instead, we’ll go with Trask to continue doing his thing with another big day on offense, and for the defense to give up enough to send this one OVER the posted total.
