Sportsbook Odds Analysis

USC has opened as a 3.5-point favorite with the total set at 62.5 points. UCLA is 3-1 SU and ATS in its last four home games against the Trojans, most recently defeating USC 34-27 as a 3-point home underdog in 2018. The UNDER is 6-2 in USC’s last eight road games against the Bruins.

USC News & Notes

After surviving a pair of nail-biters to start the season in a 28-27 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils and a 34-30 win over the Arizona Wildcats, the Trojans have looked great over their last two games.

USC defeated the Utah Utes 33-17 as a 1-point road favorite and followed that up with a dominant 38-13 win last Saturday as an 11-point home favorite against the Washington State Cougars. The Trojans jumped out to a 28-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back, improving to 4-0 SU and 2-2 ATS on the season.

Kedon Slovis went 25-for-32 against the Cougars with 287 passing yards and five passing touchdowns, four of them to wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown. USC’s offense has scored at least 28 points in every game this year and is averaging 33.3 points per game in 2020.

UCLA News & Notes

Since losing a 48-42 shootout on the road against the Colorado Buffaloes, the Bruins are 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS over their last four games. UCLA rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 25-18 win over Arizona State, responding to 18 straight Sun Devils points with a late score to seal the win. Dorian Thompson-Robinson had 192 passing yards and a passing touchdown in the victory as well.

The Bruins defense has allowed only 12.7 points per game in three wins over Arizona, Arizona State and the California Bears. Conversely, UCLA has given up an average of 43 points per game in losses to Colorado and Oregon.

The Bruins have shown enough talent on offense this season to suggest that they can keep this Saturday’s game competitive in a shootout, but they’ll more than likely need help from the defense to pull off this upset.

Betting Pick: UCLA +3.5

Both of these teams are playing well. USC may be the better team on paper, but this should be a competitive game, so we’ll take the points.
