Denver Hoping To Finish Disappointing Season Off Strong
The Broncos snapped a five-game losing streak Sunday afternoon with a 24-15 win at home over the Arizona Cardinals. Latavius Murray had his best game as a Bronco with 130 rushing yards and one touchdown on 24 carries while Brett Rypien finished 21-for-26 with 197 passing yards, one touchdown pass and an interception in relief of Russell Wilson. Denver’s defense held the Cardinals to only 240 total yards and recorded three interceptions.
Denver improved to 3-0 ATS over its last three games with the win as a 1.5-point favorite. Wilson is expected to return for the Broncos this week after missing the game against Arizona with a concussion. Wilson has had a disappointing debut season in Denver with 2,805 passing yards, 11 touchdown passes and six interceptions in 12 games. The Broncos are 3-9 SU and 5-7 ATS in his 12 starts.
Los Angeles’ Offensive Woes Continue In Green Bay
The Rams failed to carry the momentum of their improbable comeback win over the Las Vegas Raiders into their game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, losing 24-12 in a matchup that never seemed close. Baker Mayfield went 12-for-21 with only 111 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception. Cam Akers was the only bright spot on offense with 65 rushing yards and 35 receiving yards.
Los Angeles’ 273.9 total yards per game ranks dead last in the NFL. The team’s average of 16.4 points per game is second worst in the league, ahead of only the Broncos. The defending Super Bowl champions have been eliminated from playoff contention with a 1-7 SU and 2-5-1 ATS skid in their last eight games.
Broncos: Keys to Win
While both of these offenses have been dreadful, Denver’s defense ranks in the top five in both total yards allowed (309) and points allowed (18.1) per game. If the Broncos defense continues to dominate on Sunday, the bar should be low for Russell Wilson and the offense to win as a Broncos vs Rams prediction.
Rams: Keys to Win
Cam Akers has been trending in the right direction in recent weeks and has emerged as the Rams’ best weapon on offense. Los Angeles will likely need Akers to have a big day if the team hopes to generate enough offense to pull off an upset as a Broncos vs Rams pick at home.
