Paul Vs Tyson Betting Handles & Trends: Sharps Are On Paul

The Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson odds have moved a bunch over the last several weeks. Now, courtesy of our friends at BetMGM, we have some insight into the Paul vs Tyson betting handles and trends.

Each sportsbook will receive slightly different action, but here are the most popular Paul vs Tyson betting handles and trends:

Paul vs Tyson Betting Handles

"Iron Mike" is a popular underdog bet, as 68% of the handle at BetMGM has been placed on Tyson. As such, his underdog odds moved from +275 to now +200. More bets are coming in on Tyson, too, as he has garnered 76% of the ticket percentage so far.

This betting trend makes sense. Casual folks hear "Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul" and think of an all-time boxing legend fighting a clout-chasing YouTuber. Remember, though, Tyson is nearly 60 years old, and Paul has developed some good fundamental boxing skills.

Paul Getting Action From Sharps

At the start of the week, only 7% of the tickets were on Paul but he received 28% of the money. Now it's normal for the chalk to receive fewer tickets and more money, but this is a noticeable trend. Those who believe in Paul (in this case, the whales), believe in him quite heavily and are betting as such.

I want to side with the sharps on this one. I think Paul is undervalued if he sinks to -200. You can read more about my Paul vs Tyson picks here.

Beware The Draw

Some bettors suspect this fight could end in a draw, like any gimmicky boxing match. That's a real possibility, and BetMGM notes that 17% of tickets have been placed on the result to be a tie at +900.

We don't know what kind of effort these fighters will put out on Saturday. A sprinkle on a tie isn't a bad idea.

Paul vs Tyson Most Bet Props (Ticket%)

  • Mike Tyson by KO/TKO or DQ (+275)
  • Mike Tyson on points (+1000)
  • Mike Tyson to win in Round 1 (+1400)

Jake Paul Betting Insights

Jake Paul holds the second most bet boxing match in BetMGM history with his fight against Nate Diaz in August 2023, while the most bet fight remains Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia in April 2023. Paul also boasts six of the top 25 most-bet boxing matches on BetMGM’s records.

"The Problem Child" is a betting draw, meaning there could be some seismic action in Saturday's Paul vs Tyson bout.
