Terence Crawford vs Kell Brook: Odds, Preview & Prediction

Terence Crawford, the new No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world, returns to the ring for the first time in nearly a year as he defends his WBO welterweight strap against former IBF welterweight champ Kell Brook. Crawford jumped to No. 1 in the P4P rankings after Vasyl Lomachenko lost.

This title fight is scheduled for November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, and looking at the Crawford vs Brook odds, it is the champ who is a huge favorite with the challenger coming back as an underdog.

Online sportsbook [Sportsbook not available for your region] has released the Crawford vs Brook odds and has put Crawford at -1600 and Brook at +800. That means you would have to wager $1,600 on the champion to profit $100, while a $100 bet on the challenger would profit you $800.

Crawford vs Brook Preview & Pick

Not only is “Bud” Crawford laying his perfect 36-0 record on the line, but he also looks to extend his seven-fight knockout streak, having reached the 10th round just twice over that span.

The pound-for-pound king has incredible defensive skills that allow him to set up counters beautifully and the power he puts behind those counters often end the night. If that combination wasn’t hard enough to compete with, he can also switch stances fluidly and is essentially the same fighter orthodox or southpaw.

Brook too had been on quite a roll, winning 36 straight fights before suffering his first pro defeat at the hands of Gennady Golovkin via a fifth-round knockout, which was followed up with an 11th-round knockout loss to Errol Spence Jr.

“Special K” is being slightly overlooked by the oddsmakers as he’s still a dangerous fighter with his aggressive style and sharp combinations. However, he has a tendency to drop his hands, especially when he throws punches.

Overall, I think Brook will overextend looking to find Crawford’s chin, which is something that’s been very elusive to many world-class boxers. Eventually, Bud will counter heavy and put Brook to the canvas for the 10 count.

Prediction: Crawford (-1600) via knockout (-250) in Rounds 7-9 (+300)
