Pardon My Take Odds: Who’s Going to Win the Blake of the Year Award at the 2019 Takies?

Barstool Sports’ extremely popular Pardon My Take podcast has had many memorable moments over the past three years, but there’s no argument that the highlight of the calendar is the Takie Awards.

The Takies, which coincide roughly with ESPN’s ESPY Awards, will take place on Friday, July 12. One of the most prestigious Takies is the annual “Blake of the Year Award,” which has traditionally been a spirited contest between NFL quarterback Blake Bortles and NBA star Blake Griffin.

Blake Bortles is the +155 favorite to win the 2019 Blake of the Year Award.

But this year’s Takies have a different feel to them with a newcomer entering the race. Brooks “Blake” Koepka made his Pardon My Take debut in May prior to the PGA Championship, and it’s safe to say Big Cat, PFT Commenter and Hank Lockwood took a liking to him. So much so that they’ve crowned him an honorary Blake, and now Koepka could be looking at winning even more hardware than he already has in his short but impressive PGA Tour career.

Online sportsbook Sportsbook has released odds on which man will win the Blake of the Year Award at the Takies, with Bortles as the +155 favorite. Griffin (+160), Koepka (+300) and the field (+1200) are also available to bet on.

Which Blake Will Answer The Phone First?

Winning the Blake of the Year Award in the past has been fairly simple. The Pardon My Take guys called both Bortles and Griffin at the same time, and whichever Blake picked up the phone first won the award.

If Koepka is quicker on the draw than his fellow athletes, he could be a dark horse. At +300 odds, it’s worth a shot on the 29-year-old.
