The countdown is on to see who will be crowned as Miss Universe with the beauty pageant taking place this Sunday in Las Vegas. For some, the event is the premier beauty competition in the world, while others will argue that Miss World is the truest measure of greatest in the pageant circuit. Either way, both casual and hardcore observers will tune in to see which woman will be named as the universe’s representative.
Miss Australia Monika Radulovic is the favorite to capture the crown at +550 at Sportsbook. The Bosnian-Australian model was crowned Miss Universe Australia in June and will look to become the third Australian to win the competition. Radulovic is fluent in four languages, has an honours degree in psychology and is a self-confessed crazy cat lady.
It’s no shock to see an American near the top of the odds list, as the country has captured more Miss Universe titles than any other country with eight. Current Miss USA Olivia Jordan of Tulsa, Oklahoma comes in at +650, tied for third with Miss Columbia Ariadna Gutierrez Arévalo who will be looking to land back-to-back crowns for her country.
Perhaps a sentimental favorite to win is the event’s oldest competitor, Anna Vergelkaya of the Ukraine. The 27-year-old would be the first Ukrainian to win the competition. She’s in the middle of the pack as far as odds are concerned, coming in at +4000.
There’s plenty of value to be had here with 81 contestants available to wager on. While diehard beauty pageant observers will argue that there’s lots of sleepers available, it’s hard to argue against Radulovic leaving without the crown.
Good luck to all the countries involved.
