NASCAR had completed four races in its regular season before being put on hold during the COVID-19 outbreak. The sport turned to popular racing simulation game iRacing and started an eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series. After six events, we have reached our finale on May 9 at North Wilkesboro. One week later will be the return of actual racing at Darlington Raceway.
The eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series has been a win for NASCAR as many drivers were mic’d up and had cameras on them, so you got to learn more of their personalities. Young star William Byron won three of the six events with no other driver winning multiple races.
It is a wide-open field for the finale because the boogeyman, Byron, will not be competing. Online sportsbook Sportsbook has now made Timmy Hill as the favorite at +400 followed by Ryan Preece at +650, Garrett Smithley at +800, Parker Kligerman at +800, Denny Hamlin at +900, Dale Earnhardt Jr. at +1200, John Hunter Nemechek at +1600, Landon Cassill at +1600, Kyle Busch at +1800 and Christopher Bell at +2000 to round out the top 10 drivers on the oddsboard.
What To Look For When Placing a Bet on eNASCAR
It may feel like throwing a dart at a dartboard when picking the Sportsbook of an online race, but some of these drivers have been using iRacing for many years and their setups are absolutely ridiculous – like Chase Elliott’s seen below.
There will be some great action on Sunday - Make sure to watch the @iRacing feed to see @chaseelliott pilot his @TeamHendrick #9 in the @SimCraft #APEX6 against the other @NASCAR Cup Drivers on as they take on @HomesteadMiami #6DOF #IndependentFullMotion pic.twitter.com/2715NLW0VD

Obviously, the more experience you have using the equipment and getting the feel of the steering wheel and pedals, the better you will be. Some of the drivers, like Jimmie Johnson, are new to iRacing and have had some struggles. Of course, the younger drivers like Timmy Hill and Parker Kligerman – who may not be notable names to the average watcher – are very competitive and that’s why you see them near the top of the oddsboard.
Betting Pick For North Wilkesboro Speedway: Denny Hamlin at +900
Well, my go-to pick and he was quite profitable, William Byron, is not running this week. So, I'm looking a little further down the list at Denny Hamlin at +900. The three-time Daytona 500 Sportsbook has competed in four iRacing Pro Invitational Series events and had two sixth-place finishes, a fourth place and he won the inaugural race at Homestead Miami.
Hill is the favorite and rightfully so, but because he finished second last week he will be starting from the rear with no qualifying. I think that leaves vulnerable to accidents as he works his way to the front and if Hamlin has a good qualifying he could get out front early and pull away from the field.
