TSM and Flyquest will meet in what could very well be the most hotly contested series of the LCS 2020 Spring Playoffs. These teams split their two games during the spring split with TSM claiming five more kills and a slight 3.9K gold lead across the 80-plus minutes of competition.
TSM will enter the best-of-five game series as -190 favorites with Flyquest coming back at +135 per Sportsbook.
TSM is coming off the back of a thrilling five-game series with 100 Thieves on the back of Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg’s last hitting the Nexus with a fraction of his health left. Bjergsen would be named the MVP of that series, with the TSM stalwart pulling out clutch play after clutch play throughout all five games. Across the entire series, Bjergsen played well, but his Zoe play in Games 4 and 5 was remarkable. In those two games, the midlaner was 7/1/16 with a kill participation of 83 percent.
Bjergsen will need to be on his top game as he faces off against Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage in mid. PowerofEvil has proven this season to be one of, if not the, hardest-hitting mid in the LCS. The German midlaner had more kills per game and a higher CS per minute than any mid in the LCS during the Spring Split. He is also coming off the back of one of the most ridiculously dominant series we have ever seen, as he completely dismantled Golden Guardians.
Though the mid-battle will get a lot of attention. What Flyquest does in the top lane is maybe even more important. The team seemed insistent on Omran “V1per” Shoura being their top laner during most of the split but it appears as though they have finally made the switch over to Colin “Solo” Earnest during the playoffs. Solo has proven himself to be a capable top laner, posting a 1/5/21 KDA through the Golden Guardians series. Solo should likely be getting the start but I don’t think anyone would be shocked if Flyquest decided to go back to V1per.
Can either V1per or Solo hold a candle to Sergen “Broken Blade” Celik? It seems doubtful, as the TSM top laner was a Third-Team All-Pro this Split. This is truly where there will be a big difference in strategy in this series. TSM tends to play through Broken Blade in the top lane and funnels resources toward him while Flyquest leans on PowerofEvil to carry. Whichever team can stand their ground in the face of their opposition strength will likely be the series Sportsbook.
