With real-life sports sidelined, one sportsbook has turned to video games to provide football fans with the ability to bet on games – and they’re taking it to the next level on the gridiron in the Madden 2020 Sim Classic.
Since late March, has been offering odds every day on simulated Madden 20 games. The shop has decided to take that action and turn it into a real-life tournament-style competition.

Tournament Information
The tournament features all 32 NFL teams competing against each other for the right to be crowned the Madden 20 sims champion. The event, which began on May 9 and runs until May 24, features the latest roster updates available in the game from the 2019 NFL season.
That doesn’t include any player movement that’s happened since the end of the campaign, however, so Tom Brady is still on the New England Patriots instead of his new real-life team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
All matchups can be streamed through the Twitch channel livefootballsims and are archived for 14 days on the channel after they’re played.
Format and Rules
The tournament features a single round-robin divisional stage, followed by a one-and-done knockout stage. The quarter length has been set at 15 minutes and all games will be simulated on rookie mode, the easiest setting in the game. All sliders are set to default.
Four games will be played per day, Monday through Friday, with five games each day on weekends. Each club plays all three teams in its division once, with the top two teams from each division advancing to the next round.
Home-field advantage is determined based on last season’s divisional rankings. In the round of 16, the higher seed will get to play at home. The conference semifinals, conference final and championship game are all played at neutral sites to give both sides an equal advantage.
In the event of a tie in the group stage, head-to-head results between the teams, point differential, total points scored, the longest field goal made and the lowest overall Madden rating will be used to determine which teams advance to the knockout round.
