Kyle Busch is the favorite in the Watkins Glen International Odds.

Busch Favored to Win the Go Bowling at The Glen

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers compete in their second of three road courses this season as they head to Watkins Glen International for the Go Bowling at The Glen. Chase Elliott won the last running at the Glen in early August of last year and he has odds of +1000 to repeat this week. However, it is Kyle Busch that once again finds himself as the favorite at +275.

Online sportsbook Sportsbook has Busch as the favorite at +275 followed by Martin Truex at +350, Denny Hamlin at +900, Chase Elliott at +1000, Brad Keselowski, Clint Bowyer, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick at +1200, Ryan Blaney at +1600 and Kurt Busch at +1800 to round out the top 10 drivers on the oddsboard.

Standout Stats
  • Chevrolet has won four of the last 10 races at Watkins Glen with Ford and Toyota each grabbing three wins over the remaining six runnings during that span.
  • The pole sitter hasn’t gone on to win the race since 2008, a span of 10 races, and the Sportsbook has had an average starting position of 6.3 over that duration.
  • There hasn’t been a back-to-back Sportsbook at the Glen since Marcos Ambrose did so in 2011 and 2012.
  • Chase Elliott (+1000) earned his first career Cup Series victory last year at Watkins Glen, leading 52 of the 90 laps in a dominant performance. He led nine laps the year before and has been strong in his road course races.
  • Martin Truex Jr. (+350) has led at least one lap in each of the last four races at this track, winning the race in 2017 and finishing as the runner-up last year behind Elliott. He has an overall average finishing position of 11.3 over his 13 career starts there.
  • Kyle Busch (+275) led the second-most laps at the Glen last year with 31, behind only Elliott, and he has led multiple laps in nine of the last 11 runnings at this track. Additionally, “Rowdy” has an average finish position of 7.1 there, finishing outside of the top 10 in just two of his 14 career starts.
  • Daniel Suarez (+2800) has finished third and fourth in his two career starts at Watkins Glen International, leading 14 laps in his first start in 2017 when he started fifth, and battling his way up to No. 4 last year after starting 21st.
  • Erik Jones (+2500) has been red-hot recently, earning podium finishes in five of the last 10 races, including the last three in a row. He has made two career starts at the Glen, finishing 10th in his rookie season and fifth last year.

My Best Bets for the Go Bowling at The Glen

Chase Elliott (+1000)

Erik Jones (+2500)

Daniel Suarez (+2800)

I think there’s a lot of value for this weekend’s race. Of course, Kyle Busch deserves to be the favorite as he has been quite competitive at the Glen recently, but the young guns have also been quick at the road courses. If I was to go all-in on one of the three drivers, it would be Chase Elliott. He has improved every time he’s been on this track and put on a dominant performance there last year.
