The light heavyweight belt will be on the line again at UFC 282, where champion Jiri Prochazka (29-3-1, 3-0 UFC) runs it back against ex-champ and mixed martial arts legend Glover Teixeira (33-8, 16-6 UFC).
The bout, which will headline the UFC 282 card on December 10, is an immediate rematch of one of the greatest title fights of all time. At UFC 275, Prochazka and Teixeira tangled into the dying seconds of the fifth round, when “Denisa” secured a rear-naked choke and won the 205-pound belt.
Sportsbook has set the latest Teixeira vs Prochazka odds, with the champ sitting as the -210 favorite.

Glover Teixeira vs Jiri Prochazka 2 Betting Odds Analysis
For Prochazka, it’s been a meteoric rise to the top of the 205-pound division. Within three fights, the Czech Republic native became a UFC champion, while working his way into the hearts and wallets of fight fans around the world.
In his UFC debut at UFC 251, Jiri cashed as a +150 dog vs Volkan Oezdemir. After that he smashed Dominick Reyes, cashing out as a narrow -115 favorite. For his first title shot at UFC 275, Prochazka skyrocketed to -220 chalk status, and while he nearly lost that fight, he eventually pulled off the victory and won the belt.
For Glover, his last several fights have been about reminding the public that he hasn’t lost his wits in old age. Before the title defense vs Jiri at UFC 275 (where the Brazilian closed at +180), Teixeira was the underdog in three consecutive bouts vs Anthony Smith (+175), Thiago Santos (+200) and Jan Blachowicz (+215). He finished all three opponents inside the distance.
Teixeira vs Prochazka 2 Preview: Takeaways From The First Fight
Glover was so, so close. In their first meet-up, Prochazka cleaned up the first two rounds before Teixeira tapped into that dad strength and outwrestled Jiri for the second half of the fight. All three judges had the Brazilian ahead on the scorecards heading into the final round, yet Prochazka locked down the shocking submission 28 seconds before the final horn to win the belt.
Prochazka’s win was the result, but there was so much more fun before that. There were tons of momentum swings, near knockouts or submissions and some fight-saving wrestling transitions that made every moment of the UFC 275 headliner a heart-pounding experience.

Jiri is an electric champion, and given the way he fights, we’re expecting another thrilling clash that likely ends inside the distance.
Prochazka’s Energy Will Be Hard To Beat
The narrative about Glover being done has circulated for years (hence his seemingly perpetual underdog status), but the 43-year-old has pushed to defy the odds. Now a coach for middleweight champion Alex Pereira, Teixeira is one of the most well-respected figures in MMA. But Father Time is undefeated, and even though he came seconds away from defending his belt at UFC 275, Prochazka had just enough gas in the tank to walk away with the victory.
The moderately steep odds are less a knock on Glover and more an ode to the 30-year-old Prochazka, who’s been a walking highlight reel since entering the Octagon. Denisa is also quite eccentric outside the cage – earlier this year, he apparently spent three days in a dark room to “confront his demons.” Prochazka is a madman set on absolute victory. Glover might be in trouble during this rematch.
Teixeira vs Prochazka 2 Betting Pick
There’s a certain amount of finesse required to bet on this fight. Since Prochazka is decently chalked at -210, there’s not much value in betting him straight up. I think he will win, but I can see this fight dragging into the later rounds. I don’t expect the rematch to be a carbon copy of their first showdown, though it should have enough back-and-forth elements to keep fight fans on their toes.
Sorry, Glover, but we’re taking Prochazka to win and the OVER 1.5 rounds. We’ll update our pick closer to December 10.
