CFL Week 10 Picks: Elks To Start First Win Streak Of The Season

My CFL Week 10 expert picks feature bets for all four games. Of my picks, I side with the favorite when Hamilton visits Montreal (-7.5) and ride with the UNDER when Toronto hosts Calgary in the second of consecutive meetings. Meanwhile, I back the Elks (-1.0), who are finally in the win column after a 42-31 victory over the Roughriders, their best, highest scoring total since September 2018.

In Week 10, I look to improve from last week's picks which went 3-1 bringing my 2024 CFL expert picks to 15-17-1 on the season (-3.08 Units).

CFL Picks for week 10

We're nearly at the halfway mark 2024 CFL regular season and all teams officially have a win under their belt. As mentioned above, my Week 10 CFL picks feature two rematches from last week.

saskatchewan roughriders vs ottawa redblacks Pick: OVER 48.5 (-110)

Roughriders vs Redblacks Odds Week 10

The Roughriders (5-3 SU, 5-3 ATS) injury report is daunting, but it's not all dreadful news this week as Trevor Harris was a full-participant at practice on Monday and could potentially be starting against Ottawa.

The 38-year-old hasn't played since the end of June but in his three starts this season has already collected a noble 872 yards and seven touchdowns. Despite the Riders string of injuries, Corey Mace's group still managed 31-points last week. I mean, they lost but it was a solid effort! Point is, they can decorate the scoreboard.

Returning from a bye week, riding a three-game streak where they've collected 90 total points, the Redblacks (5-2 SU, 5-2 ATS) are feeling good sitting second in the East Division.

According to our CFL database, the OVER has hit in seven of the last nine meetings between these two. With Ottawa refreshed from a week off and Harris possibly returning to lead Saskatchewan, I'll bet on a heavy scoreboard.

Calgary stampeders vs toronto argonauts Pick: UNDER 50 (-110)

Stampeders vs Argos Odds Week 10

The second of back-to-back meetings as Toronto (4-4 SU, 3-5 ATS) seeks revenge after Calgary (4-4 SU, 6-2 ATS) scored a commanding 21-points in the fourth quarter to pull off a late comeback win last week.

The good news is the Argos are a promising 3-1 SU at BMO Field this season. The bad news being that those last two wins were decided by three-points or fewer.

Do I have you convinced on Calgary? Not so fast!

The Stamps have yet to win a road matchup this year. Now, you can see why this is a near Pick 'Em game.

The UNDER has hit in six of the last eight tilts between these two benches. Last Sunday's 27-23 result just hit the OVER, too. With a short week to consider too, I'm playing the point total and calling it to go UNDER.

hamilton tiger-cats vs montreal alouettes Pick: Alouettes -7.5 (-110)

Ticats vs Alouettes Odds Week 10

After a quiet first half, the Alouettes (7-1 SU, 5-3 ATS) regrouped to hold off the Ticats (2-6 SU, 2-6 ATS) and pick-up their second-straight win without starting signal-caller, Cody Fajardo.

Back-up Davis Alexander deserves his flowers, jumping right in when his team needed him most and protect their Grey Cup chances. Pocketing three touchdowns, nearly 450 yards and a respectable 75.6 completion percentage through his last two starts, the 25-year-old is dodging any resilience thrown his way. Whether its getting back up after a handful of sacks last week, staying focused despite being picked off and clearly shrugging off the overwhelming pressure of it all.

Now him and the rest of the elite Alouettes bunch have the roars of Molson Stadium, where they're 3-1 SU, rallying behind them this Saturday.

Unlike Montreal, nothing seems to be clicking for Hamilton -- unable to generate any consistency whatsoever. Jason Maas' league-leading offense (28.5 PPG) is sure to have fun against the Ticats bottom-feeder defense (31.8 PPG)

I'm easily hammering Montreal to earn its seventh-straight win against Hamilton this week.

BC Lions vs edmonton elks Pick: elks -1.0 (-105)

Lions vs Elks Odds Week 10

If you would've told me like two weeks ago the Elks (1-7 SU, 4-4 ATS) would be favored over the Lions (5-3 SU, 4-4 ATS), I would've rolled my eyes, walked away and assume you were crazy. But a whole lot can change in this beautiful game.

Simply put, MOP favorite, Vernon Adams Jr. is out and listed week-to-week (I shed a tear writing that) and Tre Ford is back (I pumped my first writing that).

I repeat, why the heck wasn't Edmonton playing Ford all this time? Instead of playing the Canadian quarterback, the Elks were playing victim.

In his first start, the 26-year-old completed 18-of-22 tosses for a vigilant 252 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Tevin Jones twice. The new leadership gave RB Javon Leake a burst of speed, rushing in a trio of touchdowns.

With an unhealthy Adams Jr., the Lions went scoreless against the Bombers in Week 9 -- unusual for the offense that typically nets 368.5 YPG (ranked second) and 6.8 YDS/P (ranked first). Really goes to show that the former Oregon quarterback is heavily relied on.

Give me the pumped up Elks to piece together their first streak of the season.
