The Hawks fell 125-114 to the Toronto Raptors on Friday, marking their second loss to Toronto in Atlanta’s last three games. De’Andre Hunter (23 points), John Collins (23 points), and Trae Young (22 points, 13 assists) each had impactful performances for the Hawks but were outdone by Pascal Siakam (33 points) and Fred VanVleet (26 points, 11 assists).

Young has had a fantastic season thus far for the Hawks, averaging 27.9 points per game – the third-best mark in the NBA. Dallas had a strong defensive performance as it limited the red-hot Joel Embiid to just 27 points, while no other Philadelphia player scored more than 18.

Despite the Mavericks’ reputation as a strong defensive team, they’ve actually been a bit loose as of late, allowing 115.4 points per game in the five contests prior to Friday’s win. The win over the 76ers marked the first time that the Mavericks gave up fewer than 105 points since January 23, so they’ll want to get back to that tight defensive game to keep piling up the wins.
