Hawks Fall In Disappointing Loss To Pistons

Atlanta fell 113-110 in overtime to the lowly Detroit Pistons on Monday to end a two-game winning streak. Rookie Cade Cunningham posted a double-double with 28 points and 10 assists to lead Detroit. Bogdan Bogdanovic had 22 points for the Hawks but Trae Young was held to just 14 points, though he did contribute 12 assists.

It was a disappointing loss in what should’ve been a straightforward win for the Hawks, who are still on the outside looking in on the Eastern Conference playoffs. Atlanta sits tied with Charlotte for ninth in the East, one game back of the eighth-place Brooklyn Nets.

Kevin Huerter (shoulder) is probable for Wednesday’s contest.

Bucks Win Big Over Thunder To Keep Streak Alive

The Bucks cruised to a big win on Tuesday as they topped the Oklahoma City Thunder 142-115. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a big night with 39 points to lead all scorers, Khris Middleton added 25 and five others finished in double digits for the Bucks.

Milwaukee has found another level over its current five-game run, which includes consecutive wins over the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls and NBA-leading Phoenix Suns. The Bucks are scoring 128.4 points per game over that span – up 14 points from their already elite mark of 114 on the season, which ranks third in the league.

George Hill (neck) is questionable and Grayson Allen (hip) is out for Wednesday.

Hawks vs Bucks Pick & Insights

Hawks: Keys To Cover

The Hawks are a strong offensive team in their own right, but if they’re going to fight fire with fire, they’re probably not going to come out on top against a streaking Bucks squad. Atlanta will need to find a way to limit Milwaukee offensively, especially from three-point range, as the Bucks have averaged 15.4 treys per game over their last five outings.

Bucks: Keys To Cover

The Bucks are rolling thanks in large part to their excellent depth as Middleton, Bobby Portis and Jrue Holiday have all had big performances over the last five games. Antetokounmpo is leading the way as usual, averaging 29.2 points over that span. If Giannis and company can keep it up, they should secure another comfortable win.
