Celtics Beat Bulls For 50th Win Of The Season

Boston routed the Chicago Bulls 117-94 on Wednesday to pick up its third straight victory and 50th of the season. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 25 points while Al Horford (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Jayson Tatum (16 points, 10 rebounds) each posted double-doubles in the win. Boston held Chicago’s top scorers, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, to just 16 and seven points, respectively.

The Celtics are peaking at just the right time, looking like arguably the hottest team in the Eastern Conference heading into the playoffs. The late-season surge has been sparked by Boston’s top-ranked defense, which is allowing a measly 104.3 points per game.

Horford (rest) and Nik Stauskas (ankle) are questionable for Thursday’s matchup.

Bucks Clinch Fourth Straight Central Division Title

Milwaukee also picked up an easy win over Chicago in its last outing, defeating the Bulls 127-106 on Tuesday. Brook Lopez had a standout game with a season-high 28 points while six others finished in double digits for the Bucks. DeRozan dropped 40 points for the Bulls but had little support offensively with LaVine sitting out.

The win allowed the Bucks to clinch the Central Division for the fourth straight season, the club’s most dominant run since it claimed seven consecutive division titles in the 1980s.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had a quiet night with just 18 points in 24 minutes as he ran into foul trouble, but the two-time MVP remains in the thick of the scoring title race at 29.9 points per game, just behind Joel Embiid (30.4) and LeBron James (30.3).

Antetokounmpo (knee) is probable while Grayson Allen (hip) is doubtful.

Celtics vs Bucks Pick & Insights

Celtics: Keys To Cover

The Celtics have dominated defensively while getting consistent performances from Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who are both averaging 28.9 points over their last 10 outings. With Antetokounmpo playing through some knee soreness, it’s possible that Boston can limit the Greek Freak and keep Milwaukee’s high-powered offense at bay.

Bucks: Keys To Cover

The Bucks looked more like themselves in the win over the Bulls after dropping games to the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks. The offense was spreading the ball around and even with a quiet night from Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee scored plenty while also playing some tight defense. Assuming Antetokounmpo is good to go, the Bucks will be hard to beat – even for the streaking Celtics.
