Nets Aim for Sixth-Straight Win vs Clippers
The Brooklyn Nets will try to extend their current winning streak to six straight games and their ATS winning streak against the Los Angeles Clippers to four straight games when they visit Los Angeles this Sunday night. The Nets are 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in their last three games vs the Clippers.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
Betting action on the Clippers has bumped the line up from its opener at -4.5 to Los Angeles at -5.5. The total has seen more severe movement since Sportsbook at 241 points as it has been bet down to 238.5 points. The OVER is 7-1 in the last eight games between Los Angeles and Brooklyn.
Brooklyn News & Notes
With Kevin Durant still sidelined indefinitely with a hamstring injury, the Nets took care of business against the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night with a 109-98 victory. James Harden had 23 points and 11 assists in the win and Kyrie Irving finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists. But it was also Joe Harris who helped pick up the offensive slack left in Durant’s absence going 6-for-7 from three-point range in a 21-point effort.
Harris also scored 22 points in Brooklyn’s 128-124 upset win over the Phoenix Suns. The 29-year-old shooting guard is averaging a career-high 15.1 points per game and 50.7 percent from three-point range this season as opposing defenses have had their hands full trying to come up with a way to slow down Durant, Irving, and Harden.
Los Angeles News & Notes
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were both in the lineup together for the first time since February 3 on Friday night against the Utah Jazz. The end result was an impressive 116-112 victory at home against Utah as Leonard led the team with 29 points scored and George added 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists. The Clippers are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS over their last six games despite George and Leonard missing time in February.
Los Angeles is 22-9 SU and 18-13 ATS this season. The team is 17-4 SU with Paul George in the lineup and 5-5 SU with him out of the lineup as the veteran’s presence has opened up the offense for everyone, especially Kawhi Leonard, when he has played. Both superstars are expected to be good to go against the Nets.
Betting Pick: OVER 238.5 points
Brooklyn has seen the total go OVER in 16 of its last 20 games. The 238.5-point benchmark is quite high but these two high-octane offenses are more than capable of hitting it.
