Nets vs Knicks Prediction & Odds: Knicks Favored Over Depleted Nets

Nets vs Knicks Odds & Analysis

Sportsbook Odds

The Knicks opened as a 6.5-point favorite at home with the total set at 218.5 points. The OVER is 4-1 in Brooklyn’s last five games and 5-2 in New York’s last seven. Though the Nets have struggled of late, they have owned the Knicks historically, winning eight of the last 10 meetings. However, given Brooklyn’s depleted lineup entering the contest, New York should have the upper hand on paper in any Nets vs Knicks prediction.

Short-Handed Nets Snap 11-Game Losing Streak vs Kings

The Nets finally picked up a win on Monday, beating the Sacramento Kings 109-85 to earn their first victory since January 21. Seth Curry scored 23 points to lead Brooklyn in his team debut while LaMarcus Aldridge and Bruce Brown Jr. added 19 points apiece.

The story in Brooklyn continues to be the Nets’ depleted roster: Kevin Durant (knee) has no timetable for his return, Kyrie Irving (eligibility) won’t be able to play again until the Nets hit the road on February 26 and trade deadline pickup Ben Simmons (conditioning) is still getting back into game shape.

The Nets are now just barely clinging to a playoff spot, sitting eighth in the Eastern Conference. If they’re going to salvage the season, they’ll need Durant and Simmons back – fast.

Knicks’ Struggles Continue As They Fall To Lowly Thunder

The Knicks dropped their second straight contest on Monday, falling 127-123 in overtime to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both Julius Randle (30 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) and Mitchell Robinson (14 points, 17 rebounds) had chances to win the game for New York in regulation time  but neither could get their shots to fall at the buzzer as Oklahoma City went on to win in the extra frame.

New York stood pat at the trade deadline, essentially accepting their fate of missing the playoffs. The club sits 12th in the East and is one of the coldest teams in the NBA, winning just two of its last 10 outings.

Nerlens Noel (knee) and RJ Barrett (ankle) are out for Wednesday’s matchup.

Nets vs Knicks Pick & Insights

Nets: Keys To Cover

The Nets somehow managed 109 points in their last outing thanks to a big game from Curry as well as an unlikely 19-point performance from Brown. If Brooklyn is going to pick up another win, Curry will need to shoot the lights out again and the Nets will have to get another surprising performance from a depth player.

Knicks: Keys To Cover

The Knicks should have the better chances on paper in this matchup coming up against a depleted Nets team. Randle, Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker are all capable scorers, with Randle scoring at least 28 points in six straight contests. With no dangerous scorers on Brooklyn, the Knicks should simply be able to outscore the Nets in this one.
