Brooklyn Has Covered In All Three Games vs Philly

The Nets and Sixers played three times within five weeks in November and December but have not seen each other since. Brooklyn is 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in those games, all from the underdog position, and the Nets find themselves getting 7.5 points tonight, the most they’ve been afforded in any game vs Philadelphia this year. The total opened at 227.5.

Standout Stats

  • Brooklyn is scoring 112.1 points per game in March, just behind Philadelphia’s 112.9 points per game. Brooklyn’s opponents are scoring 111.5 points per game this month, while Sixers’ opponents are scoring 112.1 points per game.
  • The Nets are 9-4 ATS vs the Atlantic Division while Philadelphia is 4-11 ATS. The 76ers have just one spread win in their last six divisional games, covering as a 10-point favorite vs the Knicks on February 13. Prior to that, you have to go back to December 22 vs Toronto for their last divisional ATS win.
  • Brooklyn is 13-8 ATS as a road dog of 7.5 points or less. The Nets have the best road ATS record in the division at 23-15, a mark that ties them for second-best in the NBA. Meanwhile, Philadelphia is 0-3 ATS in its last three games.
  • Philadelphia has clinched a playoff spot, however, Brooklyn has not, even though it currently sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference. The Nets have the strongest remaining strength of schedule of any Eastern Conference team. Coincidentally, if the playoffs started today, these teams would play each other.
  • The Sixers are allowing 53.9 points per game in the paint since the all-star break, putting them 27th in the league in this category. Brooklyn is right around the league average with 42.9 points per game from the paint during the same span.
  • Two of Brooklyn’s best shooting performances have come against Philadelphia this season, including 56.8 percent on November 25. D’Angelo Russell had 38 points in that game. In his last four games, Russell has scored 39, 21, 44 and 32 points. His points OVER/UNDER is set at 25.5 tonight.

My Best Bet for Nets vs 76ers

Brooklyn +7.5

I’m going to back the Nets tonight as they’ve given us no reason not to vs the Sixers this year. Brooklyn has covered spreads of +4, +4.5 and +6 already, so being given even more points tonight gives me confidence.

Additionally, the Nets have had ATS success both in their division and on the road this season, while Philadelphia hasn’t been covering spreads lately, going 3-7 ATS in its last 10.

The Nets are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games vs divisional opponents.away The total has gone OVER in five of the 76ers’ last six games (avg. combined score: 238.33).home Brooklyn has covered the spread in the three previous meetings this season. away
