Bulls Snap Three-Game Losing Skid Against Raptors
The Bulls snapped a three-game skid on Monday with a 113-99 win over the Toronto Raptors. Zach Lavine and DeMar DeRozan each scored 26 to lead Chicago while Nikola Vucevic had 19 points and 13 boards for a double-double. Pascal Siakam topped Toronto with 22 points in a losing effort.
Chicago has struggled since losing Lonzo Ball to knee surgery in mid-January, with the club going 15-16 without their starting point guard. Unfortunately for the Bulls, Ball suffered a setback in practice this week and will take a 10-day break from running after his surgically repaired knee responded poorly to rehab. It looks like the current best case scenario for Chicago is that Ball returns in time for the playoffs.
Bucks Fall To Timberwolves Without Antetokounmpo
The Bucks fell 138-119 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in their last outing on Saturday. Anthony Edwards (25 points) and Karl-Anthony Towns (25 points, 11 rebounds) led the Timberwolves in scoring while four other players finished in double digits. Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and Pat Connaughton each scored 15 points to top the Bucks.
Milwaukee was without Giannis Antetokounmpo in Saturday’s loss, who sat out due to knee soreness. The Bucks had several players step up in the big man’s absence, including Brook Lopez, who suited up in just his third game after recovering from back surgery, and Connaughton, who appeared for the first time since breaking his hand on February 10. Ultimately, though, the Bucks couldn’t pull through without their leading scorer.
Antetokounmpo (knee) is probable for Tuesday’s matchup while Middleton (wrist) is out.
Bulls vs Bucks Pick & Insights
Bulls: Keys to Cover
Chicago will likely try to fight fire with fire in this one as two of the NBA’s top 10 offenses go head to head. DeRozan is sixth in league scoring, averaging 27.8 points per game, and will need to go shot for shot with Antetokounmpo to keep his team in it.
Bucks: Keys to Cover
Milwaukee has been on fire lately, scoring 124.6 points per game over its last 10 outings. They’ve also been lax defensively over that span, though, giving up 118.6 points per game. Unless they’re going to tighten up in their half, the Bucks will need to keep shooting the lights out.
