Lakers Hard to Watch for Fans, Bettors Alike
I’m not exactly breaking news when I say the Los Angeles Lakers are not a good basketball team. The Lakers have gone 1-12 SU in their past 13 games with the lone win coming against the lowly Phoenix Suns. There have been no positives to take away from this abysmal run - unless you’ve been fading LA - as the Lakers have also gone 2-10-1 ATS in that span. The Lakers continue a six-game homestand when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday night.
It hasn’t all been doom and gloom for the Lakers, as rookie Brandon Ingram has been playing some of his most consistent basketball of the season as of late. The Duke product has averaged 14 points per game while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor in the past seven. If Ingram can find his groove from beyond the arc, he’s shooting just 27.3 percent from deep since the start of March, then he could quickly become the go-to offensive player for LA.
The Cavs are coming off a 108-78 pounding to the Clippers Saturday but played without LeBron James, Kyrie Irving or Kevin Love. Irving has been dealing with knee tightness since leaving in the fourth quarter two games ago and Love, who is just coming back after missing 13 games following knee surgery, is not medically cleared to play consecutive nights. Both James and Love are expected to be in the lineup but Irving’s status is up in the air.
