Favored Cavs Can Close the Book on Raps Sunday
This series has really not gone according to plan for the Toronto Raptors. They’re one loss away from being ousted from the NBA playoffs and they’ve barely even been competitive. Yes, they stayed close to the Cavs for the first three quarters on Friday but they wound up losing by 21 points and even Toronto’s own Drake has jumped off the bandwagon. The Dinos will look to stave off elimination as underdogs in Game 4 but if past results have any bearing on what’s to come – I wouldn’t hold out too much hope.
I would call this article a eulogy but eulogies are usually positive – this is a death sentence. Whenever it’s looked like the Raps could win a game, or at least be competitive in this series, the Cavs have buried them with three-pointers. LeBron James and his cast of loyal followers simply have too much firepower for the Raps to handle (offensively and defensively) and will more than likely reel away from the Big Smoke with an 11th straight playoff victory.
Making half their attempts from deep in this series, Cleveland has been shooting the lights out. They’ve drilled an astounding 45 threes through the first three games compared to the paltry 17 the Raps have made.
Sportsbooks are pretty sure this one is over as well. They opened the Raptors as 5.5-point home underdogs but that number could close near double-digits if the news comes down that Lowry is unable to suit up.
