Bryn Forbes #11 of the San Antonio Spurs puts up a jump shot against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center on December 22, 2018 in Houston, Texas.

Spurs Have Won 12 Straight Home Games Over Nuggets

The San Antonio Spurs have won 12 games in a row over the Denver Nuggets at AT&T Center and will be looking to make it 13 when the Western Conference squads renew acquaintances in the Lone Star State on Wednesday. Sportsbooks opened the Spurs as 3-point home favorites with a total of 215.5.

SHARK BITES
  • The favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings between the Spurs and Nuggets.
  • The OVER is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between the Spurs and Nuggets.
  • The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games.

Nuggets vs Spurs Game Center

Nuggets are coming off their worst loss of the year

This is the first contest of a home-and-home between the clubs with the Nuggets looking to win in San Antonio for the first time since March 4, 2012. Denver has been one of the top teams in the NBA over the past few weeks but fell 132-111 to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday to see a four-game winning streak come to an end. The 21-point setback represented Denver’s biggest loss of the campaign, more than doubling its previous worst deficit of 10 points.

San Antonio has won seven of its past nine to improve to 18-16 SU but dropped its last outing to the Houston Rockets 108-101 on Saturday. Shooting guard DeMar DeRozan notched 28 points in the loss, only his third 20-point game in the Spurs’ past seven. Small forward Davis Bertans has been fantastic of late, as the Latvian is 14-for-19 from three-point range over his past four games.

Faves have been an excellent wager in this series

The clubs split last season’s four meetings, with the Spurs prevailing twice at home to continue their dominance over Denver in Texas. The favorite is dominating this series, evidenced by faves going 8-2 ATS in the past 10 matchups between the Spurs and Nuggets.

When it comes to the total, bettors may want to pay attention to the OVER in this one. Six of the past eight matchups between the teams have eclipsed the closing total. The Nuggets have also gone OVER in four of their previous five meetings with Western Conference opposition.

My pick: take the Spurs

While the Nuggets have proven they can hang with the best teams in the West, San Antonio’s track record against Denver at home is simply too good to ignore in my eyes. The Spurs haven’t been the most reliable club in the Association against the spread this season but I expect them to start the post-holiday break off strong and pick up their 13th win in a row over Denver at AT&T Center.

The favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings between the Spurs and Nuggets. The OVER is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between the Spurs and Nuggets. The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games.away
