Milwaukee Bucks Vs. Denver Nuggets
The Game: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Denver Nuggets, 9 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Milwaukee Bucks | +4 (-110) | +136 | O 238 (-110) |
Denver Nuggets | -4 (-110) | -162 | U 238 (-110) |
Pick: Milwaukee Bucks ATS +4
Dropping a sizzling 141 points on the New Orleans Pelicans' ninth-ranked defense on Saturday is momentum the Milwaukee Bucks will need to carry over on the road against the reigning champion Denver Nuggets.
Milwaukee has only covered the spread three times in its last 14 games, but this is a new-look Bucks with a new dynamic following the firing of head coach Adrian Griffin. Doc Rivers is expected to make his debut on the sidelines on Monday, so there's some extra incentive to kick off the Rivers era of Bucks basketball on a high note.
Defeating the Nuggets at Ball Arena is no simple task, which is we're betting the spread as opposed to the moneyline to give Milwaukee a touch more breathing room since this could get tight on the scoreboard.
Minnesota Timberwolves Vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
The Game: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, 8 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Minnesota Timberwolves | +2.5 (-106) | +118 | O 224.5 (-110) |
Oklahoma City Thunder | -2.5 (-114) | -138 | U 224.5 (-110) |
Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder ML
Sunday marked perhaps the low point of the 2023-24 campaign for the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder after falling by double digits to the putrid Detroit Pistons.
A similar effort against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are literally tied with the Thunder in the standings but own the second seed due to having lost twice to Oklahoma City this season, simply won't suffice.
There's definitely a level of personal pride which comes into play after such an awful defeat. With the Thunder back at the Paycom Center for some home cooking with a 17-5 record, a victory will serve as a reminder that Oklahoma City deserves its high seed and that Sunday was just an anomaly.
Washington Wizards vs. San Antonio Spurs
The Game: Washington Wizards vs. San Antonio Spurs, 8 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Washington Wizards | +4 (-110) | +138 | O 240.5 (-110) |
San Antonio Spurs | -4 (-110) | -164 | U 240.5 (-110) |
Pick: OVER 240.5 Total Points
The 240.5 total is the highest of any game scheduled for Monday night, and it's certainly warranted.
The Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs are allowing 120.1 points per 100 possessions (29th) and 118.1 points per 100 possessions (25th), respectfully, so don't expect a high level of defense in this one. Their first meeting a little over a week ago on Jan. 20 reached 258 total points, as well, which helps explain this number.
The total has gone OVER in four of San Antonio's last six games, and while it's gone UNDER in five of Washington's last six outings, the fact that we're likely to see playground-style basketball with little emphasis on the defensive end should result in plenty of scoring opportunities.
