Looney Sparks Third-Quarter Comeback For Warriors

Fueled by a third-quarter rally, the Warriors took Game 2 by a score of 126-117 to claim a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. Golden State was down 72-58 at halftime but outscored Dallas 68-45 in the second half to take the game away.

Steph Curry led the scoring with 32 points while Jordan Poole had 23 and Kevin Looney had 21 points plus 12 rebounds.

Looney recorded his second career postseason double-double while his 21 points marked a career high. The center had 11 of Golden State’s 25 points in the third quarter on 5-for-6 shooting and has now scored in double digits in back-to-back games.

Andrew Wiggins (ankle) is questionable for Game 3.

Doncic Scores 42 But Mavericks Come Up Short

It was all Dallas in the first half as the Mavs came out to a 14-point lead through the first two quarters, led by Luka Doncic who had 18 points in the first frame alone.

Doncic finished the game with 42 points while Jalen Brunson had 31, but Dallas just couldn’t contain a classic Golden State rally in the second half.

The Mavericks chucked up a ton of three-pointers in Game 2, going 21-of-45 from long range compared to the Warriors who shot just 14-of-28 from beyond the arc.

Reggie Bullock (21 points) went 6-for-10 from three, matching Curry for the most made three-pointers in the game, while Doncic (5-for-10) and Brunson (5-for-7) were also accurate from distance.

Warriors vs Mavericks Pick & Insights

Warriors: Keys to Cover

We saw some of that classic Warriors magic in Game 2, and it makes you think that this team may just have another championship run in them.

When Curry gets a ton of offensive support like he did last time out, Golden State is pretty much unstoppable – we’ll see if they can do it again in Game 3.

Mavericks: Keys to Cover

After upsetting the Suns last round and holding them to under 100 points in three of the last five contests, the Mavericks have given up 119 points per game to the Warriors.

If Dallas is going to get back into the series, they’ll have to get much tighter defensively and at least try to limit everyone but Curry.
