Warriors vs Grizzlies Odds & Picks: Memphis Big Fave Even Without Morant

The Grizzlies (52-23 SU, 49-26 ATS) have won 17 of 19 games this season without MVP candidate Ja Morant in the lineup, and many of those victories have come by double digits. Memphis is a heavy favorite to continue that trend tonight when it hosts the reeling Warriors (48-26, 36-34-4).

Tonight marks Golden State’s fifth game in seven days and bettors aren’t interested in backing the struggling Warriors in their Warriors vs Grizzlies predictions. Memphis had been bet up to a 10.5-point favorite by Monday morning, which would be the most points Golden State has gotten all season.

Warriors Coming Off Loss In Washington To Drop To 1-5 SU And ATS In Last 6

Golden State is stumbling to the finish line of the regular season without Steph Curry in the lineup, going 1-5 SU and ATS since Curry hurt his foot in mid-March against Boston. The Warriors also recently lost James Wiseman for the rest of the season and remain without Andre Iguodala.

The Warriors’ healthy players are struggling as well. Draymond Green was a minus-20 in Sunday’s 123-115 loss in Washington and acknowledged to reporters after the game that the team might be worse right now when he’s on the floor. Jordan Poole led the Warriors with 26 points but needed 25 shots to do it and is now 16-for-45 from the field in his last two games.

Golden State could be without backup shooting guard Damion Lee tonight after he  hurt his right elbow against Washington. Coach Steve Kerr could also choose to start Otto Porter Jr. at center after seeing Jonathan Kuminga miss all five of his field-goal attempts against the Wizards.

Memphis Continuing To Roll WIthout Leading Scorer Morant In Lineup

As good as the Grizzlies have been this season with Morant in the lineup, they’ve been even better with him out of it. Memphis has won both of its games since the team announced Morant would miss two weeks with right knee soreness and is now 17-2 SU when its leading scorer and MVP candidate hasn’t suited up.

Not only are the Grizzlies winning games without Morant, they’re crushing their opponents. Memphis’ 127-102 win over Milwaukee on Saturday came on the heels of a 30-point blowout of the Pacers, and each of the Grizzlies’ last five victories have come by at least a dozen points.

Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks have been two of Memphis’ most consistent offensive threats when Morant has been out, but De’Anthony Melton has recently emerged as another scoring option. Melton hit six of nine shots from three-point range Saturday en route to a season-high 24 points and is 26-for-44 from downtown in his last six games.

Warriors vs Grizzlies Pick & Insights

Warriors: Keys To Cover

Kerr questioned his team’s compete level last night in Washington, so that could spark the Warriors to play with more determination and intensity tonight. With Curry out and many other players struggling, Golden State’s best chance at the upset would likely be a low-scoring affair, so if you like the Dubs on the point spread, you may want to parlay that with the UNDER on your Warriors vs Grizzlies prediction.

Grizzlies: Keys To Cover

The Grizzlies offense has been lethal during an 8-1 SU surge in their last nine games, scoring at least 118 points in all but one of those contests. If Memphis can force another fast pace tonight, Golden State should have trouble keeping up in its fifth game in seven days.
