Poole Helps Warriors Snap Losing Skid
The Warriors stopped a three-game skid on Sunday with a 126-110 win over the Toronto Raptors. Jordan Poole scored a career-high 43 points while Draymond Green and Klay Thompson had 17 each in the win. Pascal Siakam (27 points) and Fred VanVleet (22 points) topped the Raptors in a losing effort.
Golden State’s leading scorer, Steph Curry, left last Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers with a dislocated shoulder and is expected to be sidelined for at least a month. The Warriors offense will surely take a hit without the reigning NBA Finals MVP, and it’ll be up to players like Poole and Thompson to pick up the pace in his absence.
Knicks Top Pacers To Extend Win Streak
The Knicks earned their seventh straight victory on Monday, defeating the Indiana Pacers 109-106. Jalen Brunson had 30 points to lead the charge while Julius Randle (25 points, 14 rebounds) and RJ Barrett (24 points) also scored 20-plus for New York. Aaron Nesmith and Buddy Hield led Indiana with 23 points apiece.
New York has enjoyed some balanced offensive performances from Randle, Barrett and Brunson, who have each led the team in scoring in multiple games during their seven-game run. Randle in particular has seen a good boost in his production this month, scoring 26.4 points per game – a four-point bump over his season average.
Warriors Player Prop: Poole OVER 30 Points (+119)
After a slow start to the season, Poole has been popping off in December, averaging 26.7 points per game and scoring 30-plus in three of his nine outings this month. His confidence should be high after scoring a career-best 43 points last time out, so look for Poole to get plenty of touches on Tuesday.
Knicks Player Prop: Randle OVER 27 Points (+117)
Like Poole, Randle has been heating up as the season has gone on, averaging 26.4 points per game in December to lead the Knicks. The power forward has recorded 27 or more points in four of his eight games this month so he has a good chance to clear the OVER in this one.
Warriors: Keys To Win
While the Warriors own the NBA’s third-best offense at 117.3 points per game, they’ll be without their top scorer for the foreseeable future. If Golden State is going to maintain its elite offense and stay afloat without Curry, the Dubs will need Poole and Thompson to stay hot.
Knicks: Keys To Win
The Knicks have had some strong offensive performances from their top trio, but it’s arguably their improved defensive play that has allowed them to win so many games of late. New York has held opponents to less than 100 points in four of its last seven contests, averaging just 98.3 points against per game during the win streak. If that trend continues, the Knicks should win again.
