Poole Scores 36 As Warriors Blow Out Spurs
The Warriors picked up their third win in four games Monday as they whipped the San Antonio Spurs 132-95. Jordan Poole had a monster game with a season-high 36 points in just 29 minutes on the court while five others finished in double digits. Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with just 15 points.
Everyone knows how talented Poole is and what he’s capable of, but the fourth-year shooting guard has yet to truly find his rhythm this season. Poole is averaging 17.1 points per game – third on the Warriors – but has been very hit-or-miss. He’s scored 20-plus points on five occasions but has finished with 12 points or less six times. Golden State will surely need more consistency from Poole as the season progresses.
Suns Lose Nail-Biter To Heat
The Suns suffered their third loss in four outings, falling 113-112 to the Miami Heat on Monday. Phoenix took a lead into the fourth quarter but Miami outscored the Suns 29-21 in the final frame to eke out the win. Devin Booker had 25 points to lead the Suns while Bam Adebayo (30 points, 10 rebounds) was the star for the Heat.
Phoenix was without Chris Paul for the fourth straight game in Monday’s loss and the point guard is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s affair. Cameron Payne has stepped up admirably as the starting point guard in Paul’s absence, scoring 22 or more in two of his last three games.
Warriors Player Prop: Curry OVER 31 Points (+119)
Steph Curry was quiet in his last outing with just 16 points but has been on a tear over the last couple of weeks, averaging 32 points in November while scoring 40-plus in back-to-back outings against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings. Based on his recent play, it seems likely that Curry hits the OVER on 31 points.
Suns Player Prop: Booker OVER 30 Points (+112)
If the Suns have a response to Curry, it’s Booker. The shooting guard is averaging 26.5 points on the season, though that number has dipped to 24.1 in November. Still, Booker has scored 30-plus in five of his 13 appearances this year, so there’s a fair chance he hits the OVER on 30 points.
Warriors: Keys To Win
Golden State has found its offensive rhythm early on this season, scoring 117.4 points per game – second in the NBA behind only Boston (120). The Warriors will be faced with a challenge, though, as the Suns own the league’s best defense (106.1 points against per game). If the Dubs are going to come out on top, they’ll need players like Poole and Andrew Wiggins to provide plenty of support for Curry.
Suns: Keys To Win
Phoenix has enjoyed plenty of success at Footprint Center this season with six wins in seven games, including a huge 134-105 victory over the Warriors back on October 25. After a four-game road trip where they struggled to score, the Suns will be happy to get back home and hopefully find their confidence.
