Warriors-Rockets Game 7 Preview: Paul’s Injury Status Lingering Over Series Finale
UPDATE: Warriors small forward Andre Iguodala has been ruled out of tonight's game due to a knee injury.
After facing some rare adversity in the form of a 3-2 series deficit in the Western Conference final against the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors looked like their usual dominate selves in the second half of Saturday’s 115-86 Game 6 triumph. With Game 7 set for Monday, the Warriors will be looking to book their ticket to the NBA Finals and collide with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the fourth straight year. UNDERs have been the story as this series has gone on, as each of the last four games has gone UNDER the total with an average combined score of 198 points.
Sportsbook opened the Warriors as 6-point road favorites with a total of 208.
The Rockets looked great out of the gate in Game 6, going up 39-22 in the first quarter and leading 61-51 at halftime before managing only 25 points in the second half. The absence of star point guard Chris Paul, who sat out of the contest due to a hamstring injury, was evident, as the Rockets looked out of sorts without the veteran on the floor. As of this writing, Paul was listed as questionable for Game 7.
Klay Thompson led the way for the Dubs, as the shooting guard finished with 35 points on 9-of-14 shooting from three-point range. Draymond Green collected 10 rebounds, nine assists, five blocks and four steals.
Golden State simply hasn’t been able to string together covers lately. In the Warriors’ last five games when covering the previous tilt, they’re 0-5 ATS.
