John Wall and the Wiz Look to Get Back on Their Home Horse
Before their overtime loss to the Cavaliers, the Wizards had won 17 straight home games and if it weren’t for a clutch game-tying shot from LeBron James, they’d be going for their 19th straight home win tonight against the Pacers. During that streak, the Wizards were – obviously – a really good bet. That trend, however, has reversed and they’ve cashed just one spread bet in their last four games.
Washington and Indiana are both in the chase pack in the Eastern Conference and will be looking to gain some ground on the idle Cavaliers tonight. The Pacers have historically dominated this matchup but given how the Wiz have played at the Verizon Center this year, Paul George and crew may be leaving D.C. an unhappy bunch.
The two things these teams have in common, other than almost everything, is that their last losses came against the Cavaliers and those L’s busted long streaks for both Washington and Indiana. Their home-away splits are basically a mirror image of each other as both teams have been great at home and terrible on the road.
It’s likely the Wizards take the edge in the season series tonight but this should be one of the better games on the Friday night docket.
