How healthy is Joel Embiid?
That's the greatest conundrum in betting this series. On top of his health concerns, Embiid was clearly winded throughout the 76ers play-in victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. If the big man is less than 100%, Philadelphia is in real trouble against a hardnosed Knicks squad.

I don't recommend betting on either of these teams to win the East at their current odds. If Embiid is fully healthy (and in game shape) the 76ers are as talented as any team in the conference. But, the big man just missed half the season, and has looked shaky since returning. It's a wonder he returned at all this season. Expecting him to remain healthy over the course of a two-month journey to the NBA Finals is an uninspiring wager.

Thibodeau's squad possesses the tenacious defense to limit Philadelphia's secondary scorers. The Knicks also have the size, depth and shooting to end Philadelphia's season. They've outscored Philadelphia by nearly three points per game, out shot them from the field and the three-point line and outrebounded the 76ers across their last ten meetings. I love the value on the Knicks.
