Golden State Looks To Snap Its Losing Streak vs LA Clippers
The Golden State Warriors are 2-1 SU and ATS at home through their first three home games of the season. The Warriors continue their homestand Wednesday night with the first of two back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Clippers, who are 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS in the last three head-to-head matchups.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
While the Clippers were the Sportsbook-line favorite at -5, massive betting action on the Warriors has moved the line all the way over to Golden State -1.5. The OVER has also been a popular bet in this one since Sportsbook at 227.5 points as the line has moved up to 230.5 points. Los Angeles is 3-1 SU and ATS on the road this season.
Los Angeles News & Notes
The Clippers suffered a 116-113 loss at home to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night as 7.5-point home favorites. Playing without Paul George, who was out with an ankle injury, Kawhi Leonard did most of the heavy lifting on offense with 30 points and 10 assists in 37 minutes of play. Los Angeles fell to 5-3 SU and ATS with the loss.
George is listed as questionable for Wednesday night’s game with the same injury that kept him out against San Antonio. Leonard historically hasn’t played the second night of back-to-backs, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him sit for most or all of this game, especially after playing so many minutes against the Spurs. The Clippers are 3-4 SU and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games on the back end of a back-to-back.
Golden State News & Notes
The Warriors started the season with an 0-2 SU and ATS record after getting blown out 125-99 by the Brooklyn Nets and 138-99 by the Milwaukee Bucks. Steph Curry scored just 39 total points in those two games. Since then, Curry has gone off for 37 points per game, highlighted by his 62-point performance Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Golden State is 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS over Curry’s current hot streak. The Warriors beat Portland 137-122 and dropped another 137 points the following night in a 137-106 win over the Sacramento Kings. Given how hot Curry and the Warriors offense are, the betting action leaning toward Golden State and the OVER in this game shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Betting Pick: Golden State -1.5
If George and Leonard were both playing in this one, the Clippers would likely be too much for the Warriors to overcome. But with Los Angeles on the second night of a back-to-back and Golden State playing so well, the Warriors are tough to pass up on at home in this spot.
