Lakers Lose Big Without LeBron

The Lakers got blown out in their last game, falling 139-116 against the Utah Jazz en route to their third straight loss. Los Angeles kept it close through the first half but Utah cruised 63-45 after the break on the way to the victory. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 29 points and Russell Westbrook had 22 while Lauri Markkanen topped the Jazz with 23 points.

LeBron James missed Monday’s contest with a foot injury but is likely to return for Wednesday’s game. The 37-year-old is still going strong, leading the Lakers with 24.3 points per game while playing more than 36 minutes a night. Unfortunately, LeBron hasn’t been able to carry the team’s offense single-handedly as the Lakers rank 26th in the NBA in points per game (108.4).

Clips Earn Fourth Win In Five Outings

The Clippers eked out a 119-117 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, earning their fourth victory in five outings. Paul George had 26 points to lead the Clips as six players hit double digits for Los Angeles. Donovan Mitchell had 30 points for the Cavs to lead all scorers.

Los Angeles continues to play without Kawhi Leonard, who’s been ruled out of Wednesday’s matchup. The small forward has appeared in just two games this season and has been out for more than two weeks now as he manages stiffness in his surgically repaired right knee. With Leonard out, Marcus Morris Sr. has seen an uptick in his playing time, averaging more than 36 minutes in November while scoring 17.5 points per game.

Lakers Player Prop: James OVER 29 Points (+118)

James will have to have a big night on Wednesday if he’s going to hit the OVER on 29 points. The Lakers star is likely to return from a foot injury but he’ll be doing so against a stout Clippers defense that is allowing just 107.5 points per game, the seventh-best mark in the league.

Clippers Player Prop: George OVER 29 Points (+117)

The Clippers have demonstrated some impressive offensive depth this season but George is still the clear No. 1 option, especially with Leonard out. The shooting guard has been hot in November, averaging 30 points per game through four contests, so it’s likely he hits the OVER on 29 points in this one.

Lakers: Keys To Win

Both James and Davis are coming into this matchup a bit banged up but that won’t change much about the Lakers’ game plan. The team doesn’t have a ton of consistent scoring threats outside of those two, so they’ll likely have to have big nights if the Lakers are going to snap their losing streak.

Clippers: Keys To Win

While George gets a lot of the attention, the Clippers have spread the ball around well so far this season with seven players averaging at least 10 points per game. If the Clips can keep that trend going and get big games from some secondary scorers like Morris and Norman Powell, they should beat the struggling Lakers.
