Grizzlies vs Warriors Betting Preview
The Memphis Grizzlies (31-16 SU, 22-23-2 ATS) aim to halt their longest losing streak of the season when they visit the Golden State Warriors (23-24, 22-24-1) in Wednesday NBA action.
The Grizzlies travel to the Bay Area on the heels of Monday’s lopsided 133-100 defeat in Sacramento that extended their slide to three games. The Warriors opened their homestand with a 120-116 loss to Brooklyn on Sunday night and have now dropped six of their past nine, including four straight on home court.
Latest Betting Notes: Grizzlies
With Ja Morant and Steven Adams on the shelf due to injuries, the Grizzlies put up little resistance in Monday’s crushing loss to the Kings. Sacramento lit up the Grizzlies for 47 points in the first quarter alone. While Memphis rallied in the second quarter, the club steadily faded after recess, getting outscored by a massive 33-10 margin in the final frame. In addition to going 0-3 to kick off their current road trip, the Grizzlies have also covered just twice in their past nine contests.
Memphis is also winless SU and ATS in its past nine as a road underdog in regular-season action since last January and has been outpaced by double-digit margins in eight of those contests. While Adams is sidelined indefinitely by a knee injury, Morant is listed as probable to return on Wednesday despite battling an ankle injury.
Latest Betting Notes: Warriors
The Warriors’ struggle to maintain consistent form continued with Sunday’s loss to the Nets. The Dubs scored 72 points while rolling to a 12-point lead over Brooklyn at halftime, but quickly gave it all back after the break, scoring just 44 second-half points in the 120-116 loss. The Warriors’ collapse heightens the team’s existing defensive concerns.
The club has now surrendered 120 points per game during its current 3-6 swoon and has lost by big double-digit margins twice during a four-game home losing streak. While that’s generated a steady 7-2-1 run for NBA betting fans taking the OVER, it has done little to cement the team’s tenuous grasp on 10th place in the West.
Grizzlies Player Prop: Desmond Bane Total Points, Rebounds, Assists
With Ja Morant hobbled by injury, Desmond Bane has stepped up to fill the void. The 24-year-old was one of the team’s few bright spots while tallying a team-high 21 points in Monday’s loss in Sacramento, and has averaged a combined 30 points and boards over his past three road dates. Even with Morant expected to return to action, Bane offers solid value as a -115 bet to record OVER 32.5 points, rebounds and assists on Wednesday.
Warriors Player Prop: Jordan Poole OVER 21.5 Points
Home cooking provided no boost for Jordan Poole, who tallied 17 points on 5-for-11 shooting in this week’s loss to the Nets. However, that performance should not dampen enthusiasm about the 23-year-old shooting guard, who has bucked the Warriors’ current inconsistent trend by scoring at least 24 points in 14 of his previous 17 outings, including seven of eight home dates. Faced with an opponent that has struggled to contain opposing shooters of late, Poole should not be overlooked as a -121 wager to score OVER 21.5 points on Wednesday.
